My custom desktop is 8 years old; still screamin. But its time to modernize. There's some old parts and some new parts going into this.

My tablet PC is pretty cool. The screen turns 180 and can be droped back over the keyboard. Then I use the Touch Pen (Found in its nestle under the Tablet) and I can draw on the screen using any drawing software. It isn't a CINTIQ screen but does the job and costs 2000$ less the a CINTIQ...Plus it runs WoW like a charm...hehe!

The original IBM PC, standard equipped with one 5 1/4" floppy and 64K of memory. Actually, it had a port on the back for using a cassette drive as well if a floppy was just too convenient for you. And that keyboard was a massive ten pound behemoth, each keystroke producing a distinctive KACHING noise. Charlie Chaplin's "little tramp" character was IBM's marketing theme for the PC.

After hearing the recent news story (under reported in my opinion but maybe that's due to the looming, London Mayoral elections) that some of our Police force still have archaic and bigoted views, ( story here www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/apr/17/police-officer-accused-... ) I felt incensed enough to get up and do a new street piece especially for PC Alex MacFarlane and to any other sympathetic members of the constabulary.
To be honest putting this piece together was a pretty uncomfortable experience but after a lot of thought and questioning I decided to hit it hard, I could have watered it down but then that's just not my style. To give the work some credence I combined actual images of the Al Jolson statue & the (1927) Jazz Singer poster + some obvious inclusions to make it work and sit comfortably with me.
Here's the finished result, placed a stones throw from Beckton Sewage works, London E16 (ironic I feel as this kind of thing stinks in this day and age).
This Enermax keyboard is nice on the fingertips, but the white letters on the black keys tend to fade fast. So i bought a special lacquer pen and painted the letters back onto the keys. After a few days of work, my hand painted letters had disappeared as well. By comparison, the white letters on the black keys of my IBM and Lenovo notebooks almost never disappear, even after years.
The stylised little man repairs the computer mouse and pc components. Isolated on white. With clippig path.
