Pattern is from a Laura Wheeler catalog. I think it was published in the 1940's but it didn't have a date on it.

A modern day TV test pattern. Test patterns were first used to assist TV set owners with adjusting their sets, but today's are for studio use and are a rare sight over the air (a local station was airing this on an unused sub-channel until programming was added).

Good Morning!

A recent image from a walk around Durham, NC. I always find it amazing how by just looking around, you can find beautiful things.

Happy hump day and enjoy the rest of your week!

Cheers,

Wade

- Seen from an old France road trip over #10YearsAgo across the Normandy coast of France. This is the view from a high cliff looking down on the rocky beach below. The rocks all have an interesting pattern that presumably is result of specific erosion mechanisms.

feel free to use this old dress pattern in your art!

Seeing Drala, Week 1

The pattern here is pretty well known and readable and the unexpected part in the pattern is centered... it's just not working. Looking for satire in abstraction I'm starting to believe is impossible. I think it's the designer's ability to build a narrative in form + content that allows one to translate meaning. Therefor, meaning and narrative arc is essential for satire, and its relationship to communication.

The weekend in San Francisco, assisting Stephen and Brian on the Aperture Academy Night Owls and San Francisco Marin Headlands workshops, turned out to be a two day journey of fun events. Luckily, I got some shooting done too and Rodeo Beach proved to be one of my favorite spots of the weekend, even though Lombard Street with a girl leaning out of a sun roof and screaming "This is like Titaniiiiic, woohoooooo!" ranks pretty high on the list. Not to forget the Hustler stripper truck on the way back to Baker Beach.

While Brian was already in joyous expectation to see the nude dudes on the beach again, I had to stop on a red light. Expecting nothing from the short stop, to our surprise a truck full of blinking lights pulled up right next to us. A quick glance revealed a giant glass cube sitting on the back of the Hustler stripper truck. Yep, it was full of girls dancing to the blasting music. Sorry Stephen, you certainly missed out on that one. I promise we'll not post the HD videos and pictures we got or even remotely tease you with the stories! ;-p

Design derived from vintage Japanese patterns.

Designed and drawn by Michelle Fung.

The prototype for another free knitting pattern. Vintage inspired, naturally!

This cap is knit entirely in one piece, starting and ending with the i-cord ties. I can't wait to accessorize some. I think they have lots of potential.

Repetitive shapes forming patterns. These are architectural vertical slats on the side of a building but I think the zig zag shape formed by the ends through the centre is more obvious in the horizontal
