On euro tour with Sean and Neil for 3 days of mayhem and a grand total of 8 hours sleep. Taking in some old and new sites and showing them some of what is out there as it was their first time. Also made time to meet up with the SPEXS crew.
Abandoned swimming pool with lots of interesting features, the builders are in so material is everywhere but still some shots worth taking.

Inspired by eilonwy77's cheese-wedge patterns, particularly this one. Drawn in InkScape.
I haven't the patience or parts to put this together myself, so I sketched it :)
Brightly colored paisley and initial cookies inspired by traditional Indian designs. Edible gold glitter adds an extra special touch. Mocha cookies with almond royal icing.
These were made for a good friend and shipped to India where she will be traveling during her birthday.
Taken during a walk in the woods around San Zeno di Montagna, where my family lives. The bright green leaves in the center captured my attention...
Week 15 - Patterns
for Compositionally Challenged
A fish ladder has lots of patterns. There are the steps and the L-shaped concrete rest areas for the salmon. Then, there is the repetitious pattern of the pipes and cyclone fencing to prevent humans from falling into the fish ladder.

Once this small hospital somewhere in Italy was a shelter for children that were suffering from lung diseases. The remote location in the mountains and the numerous surrounding forests are providing healthy air which was necessary to treat tuberculosis and other diseases. In the 1930s this facility was opened.
The property with lavishly laid out garden offered enough space for a great number of children. This was a facility of the church, so especially nuns were nursing the sick.
