---- the small town of Fiumedinisi (Sicily) ----
Fiumedinisi (ME), eve of the Feast of Our Lady of the Annunciation, 2013: this is a "penitential procession" understood as "the Travels" (or also commonly called "procession of kneeling"), in which the faithful, almost all women, proceeding on their knees, sometimes even barefoot, along a narrow street, about 800 meters long, almost always dark, lit only in some places, especially illuminated by the dim light from the lit robust candles, also used as support from every penitent; the procession starts inside the church of S. Peter, to continue until the stairway in front of the Mother Church (which is also a Marian Shrine), who once traveled, still on their knees, will bring every penitent devout inside the Sanctuary, always proceeding on their knees, in front of the statues of Our Lady and Angel Gabriel, placed one in front of the other, at the foot of the main altar ....

Best seen on black, so hit the "L" key
Using all four LED torches I started from the bottom of the frame toward the right corner moving the torches up and round in sweeping turns as if following a winding path up towards the top of the frame. Again this is another of my very short exposures compared to some of the others at just 5 seconds.

One of the paths at Foel Farm Park, Anglesey, given a faux lomo effect in Photoshop.
This is an HDR image made up from 3 handheld exposures (-1 to +1) processed in Photomatix, then the faux lomo effect was created in Photoshop.
This is the view of a disappearing garden path that lead from an arboretum through to a vegetable and fruits cultivation and rose garden, and then up some steps to another garden.

The last PATH shot from the trip. Best embiggened. This is from Ennis, Montana. Ennis lake (and the direction east) is behind me. I was so concentrated on the sunrise and the lake that I almost missed what was happening behind me :-)
Next shot, also from this location, will be my last upload for a while.
5-shot pano.
A photo of the path we were walking across while on the Duke Of Edinburgh expedition. The path never seemed to end. The blur on the outside of the path is intentional and not accidental :) Read the set details as that will answer any questions about the quality of this picture.

Cold is the water
It freezes your already cold mind
Already cold, cold mind
And death is at your doorstep
And it will steal your innocence
But it will not steal your substance
But you are not alone in this
And you are not alone in this
As brothers we will stand and we'll hold your hand
Hold your hand
And you are the mother
The mother of your baby child
The one to whom you gave life
And you have your choices
And these are what make man great
His ladder to the stars
But you are not alone in this
And you are not alone in this
As brothers we will stand and we'll hold your hand
Hold your hand
And I will tell the night
Whisper, "Lose your sight"
But I can't move the mountains for you
The new (at least to me) path beside the Plym, leading from Laira to Saltram, on a wet and windy day.

Just a mundane path leading to RIchmond park...The sun came out at just the right moment to get the shadows...
I'm taking a break from blogging/Etsy/business/Facebook until the new year to reflect on my path. Peace to all this holiday season.
On April 13, 2023, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced that the first of 72 new PATH rail cars will be deployed for service starting next week, part of the agency’s $1 billion PATH Improvement Plan to reduce delays and enhance the overall customer experience. The new high-performance rail cars will supplement the current fleet of 350 and will be gradually integrated into the system throughout 2023 and into 2024, marking an increase of more than 20 percent in rolling stock.
This footage shows a train set with some of the new Kawasaki rail cars at the PATH Hoboken station.
