The Evangelical Church of Mercheașa was probably built in the 13th century as a three-nave Romanesque basilica with a tower in the western part of the church. Today, the church has the image of a church-hall, with the altar and choir on the same level as the central nave. The organ was made by Johannes Prause and was installed here in 1788. In 2002, the organ was transferred to Vulcan Church, Brașov County.
In the early 16th century a quadrilateral enclosure was built with corner towers. The curtain, the western part of which has been demolished, is about six to seven feet high with a guarded path covered and supported by wooden consoles. On the only bastion that remains to this day, there is an inscription from the years 1517 and 1541.
The bell tower was built between 1848 and 1858 and then topped by an octagonal-based lantern.
Part of the Clear Creek foot/bike path - the road CR 6 which will get ya to Black Hawk - gambling town or left to Idaho Springs which goes up the mountain to I-70.

This walk is a couple of minutes from home so I spend most of my time here walking the dog.
Start of the path that leads up to St Mary's Glacier and the rest of it isn't much better but a good hike.

This is my personal fave of all the sunrise shots I have taken.
Its just the sea, sun and sky, well except for a bit of the Skerries at the top right hand corner.
About 3/4 of the way up you can see a lighter coloured line that goes across the photo. This is the freshwater that flows from the River Foyle. Shane had to explain to me a couple of years ago that it wasn't pollution!
Sometimes simple is best which is why I am keeping this short and snappy.
