Hello There!

This is the one and only yellow hollyhock that I've ever spotted and found it to be quite lovely. It was growing alongside a back lane where I was going for a walk one hot summer's day. I'd hoped to find it again this year, but alas, no luck. I'll keep my eye out next year!

For Wannabe Warmer Wednesday with a sincere hope that the warm colours of this bloom will ease your spirits or warm you up if you live in cold climates (like me)! WWW!

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving a comment. I do love hearing from you! Have a wonderful day!

YELLOW is the Topic for Sunday 12 June 2011.

My favourite colour. Lots of bright yellow to choose from, but I decided to do a softer or pale yellow.

The very first flowers in the garden. Very pale shade, almost cream color. Funny.

This set of cups designed by Ben Seibel and manufactured by Pfaltzgraff in the 1950s. The whimsical and rare pattern is called Country Time Saffron and was produced from 1952 to 1960s only.

I wanted to use plastic eggs but I guess I didn't have any..

So I used real eggs.

This is actually the same photo that I pasted as a black and white. Which do you like best? I am guessing I know the answer. I have posted one do the other roses in this grouping too. I am sure you'll be able to spot it.

One of the first new postwar designs, the Hudson Commodore was introduced in 1947 and gained instant popularity by virtue of its road-hugging appearance and smooth power. This 1949 Commodore Custom Eight Series 494 Brougham convertible was the apex of the Commodore lineup, offering a 262 CI inline-8 flathead engine, a manual transmission, a new Black power top and boot, power windows and leather upholstery. mecum.com

Bathroom floor tiles: detail showing the colours of the 1950s (I think; I don't have the construction date).

If you look hard you can see that they've been applied in mega-tiles too, rather than each one individually. The green is a bit of a surprise in amongst so much pastel yellow and pink. I guess it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I finally finished my first baby dress and another WIP. It was hibernating for awhile. It feels good to have another WIP done. All I need is some white ribbon to weave into the eyelets. I will try and take another picture when I get the ribbon.

Clouds of insects danced and buzzed in the golden autumn light, and the air was full of the piping of the song-birds. Long, glinting dragonflies shot across the path, or hung tremulous with gauzy wings and gleaming bodies."

The soft pale yellow of these citrine faceted quartz glass briolettes (10mm x 14mm) reminds me of early morning September light. They are wrapped with oxidized sterling silver that has been polished to show pretty hgihlights and suspended from oxidized sterling silver earwires. Earring length is 3cm (1.25").

thanks for looking!

I keep seeing more and more potential in these water lily photos. This shot is from day-w (same day as the black and white shot).

Enjoy all your chocolate, om nom nom!

“Rays from the sunrise drew forth the buds and stretched them into long stalks, lifted up sap in noiseless streams, opened petals, and sucked out scents in invisible jets and breathings.”

A weed. The yellow blooms are just smaller than an U.S. one cent coin. Small and beautiful. Las Vegas, Nevada.

The painted flowers remind me of pastel colored mints.

A weed,Those annoying stickers that hurts like the dickens (guess "dickens is easy to understand if you have ever had to read one of his books); and they do appear to be goatheads.
