Brooding skies over Iceland’s most famous national park. We’ve visited twice, and both times the beauty and wonders that we saw were just incredible! “Þingvellir is now a national park in the municipality of Bláskógabyggð in southwestern Iceland, about 40 km (25 miles) northeast of Iceland's capital, Reykjavík. Þingvellir is a site of historical, cultural, and geological significance, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland. The park lies in a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. To its south lies Þingvallavatn, the largest natural lake in Iceland.”
The white buildings are the old Parliament buildings, and you can also see a Lutheran church nearby.
Re-opening in Italy (partially).
From May 4th: Family visits (but only in the same region:(, returning home from where you was blocked from the lockdown, trips to the park, outdoor exercise, takeaways and funerals allowed.
LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST! Keep well! ❤️
The amazing wall of goblins there ... not an easy thing to overtake and attack. The goblins can be quite fierce ;)
The avenue of majestic beech tress offers a lot of opportunities with a low winter afternoon sun at the turn of the year.
Bois du Breuil, Forest of Breuil. A rich forest, part of the commune of Équemauville and overlooking the communes (towns/villages) of Honfleur, Vasouy and Pennedepie as well as the River Seine. It belonged to the Dukes of Normandy until 1204 when King Philippe Auguste conquered Normandy and the forest passed to the French kings. Located 4km from Honfleur, the Bois du Breuil is one of the rare forests on the coastline and is open to the public. This forest, covering 120 hectares, is the property of the Conservatoire du Littoral (Coastal Conservancy). Great variety of species (32 listed species including oak, beech, Scots pine and maritime pine), a fine population of naturalised rhododendrons, large 1,200m path lined with beech trees dating from 1850. Preserved natural wealth thanks to meticulous management in keeping with nature. Access via the RD62 (Equemauville-Pennedepie road). 2 car parks. Round trip, approximately 5km, offering superb views over the Seine bay. www.conservatoire-du-littoral.fr/siteLittoral/115/28-bois... and www.calvados-tourisme.co.uk/diffusio/en/discover/natural-...

Joe and I are visiting my mother in Brevard, North Carolina.
After some housework and yardwork (raking leaves), we all went to South Broad Park, and shopped at Bracken Mountain Bakery downtown, and then Mother and I walked the neighborhood.
Hope you enjoy the 19% of 46 photos I took outdoors this day!

My first ever visit to Ashdown Forest.
I had no idea where to start as it's so vast.
I picked a car park (Old Lodge) and off I went.
This big boy will get up to 1,800 pounds (816kg) when he grows up. He’s one of a few mixed in with the visiting herd out back.
I’m pretty convinced he stuck his tongue out at me deliberately. 😁
Just one photo today as the previous one has been very kindly chosen for Explore. Also in the Velvet Room is this marble fireplace by Cheere. It features the head of Mercury wearing his slightly odd winged helmet. The roses and grapes on either side are beautifully done.
There are places in the city that make you feel as is you're a hundred miles away from the city. This one's in Central Park
