Rode to Lilly Point, Point Roberts from Downtown Vancouver on Saturday.Slept under the stars at Lilly Point, then spent Sunday BBQing, swimming, hottubbing and napping at Andrew's parent's place in Tswassan.
My parents have worked so hard on this beautiful little hide away park. It used to be an open yard and now it has become a mostly peaceful place to relax in. Good job, mom and dad!
Parents have the most difficult job there is already, then add to the mix finding time for your relationship and it's just a real challenge to be a loving couple and raise a family. It takes work and tons of patience. Sara and Bob are rockin' that job. I love this photo because it was not posed except to say 'look over here' or something. They have been together a long time...through thick and thin and they work hard at being a strong and happy family. That's what it's all about. Love you guys. :o]

For a great deal of my later childhood, and early adult life, there was a 25' diameter above-ground pool right in the middle of this little lawn in front of the barn. Given our more northern latitude, it was only useful for a couple of months out of the year, and then we had to close it up, which required about 2 days of work, draining it most of the way, playing with its chemistry, tying off a boat in the middle to hold up the center so it wouldn't get hundreds of pounds of rainwater in it, putting on the cover, disassembling the pump, and motor, and bringing them down the outside basement. Add to that the tremendous amount of foliage, and wildlife surrounding it, and it was a huge chore to keep clean while it was open.
Still, my old pal Mike and I, and some other random friends had a great time playing for the small parts of the year when it was warm enough, and clean enough to use. I miss seeing it, pain in the neck that it was. My parents, I believe, are quite relieved. Mom has a far smaller in-deck Endless Pool now, a recent addition to the recently-enlarged back porch, so she's quite happy.
