arguably not an exciting photo but a rite of passage in any mans life, putting the beans up

During these drinking festivities, which usually involve a lot of excesses, you also see very nice images of father holding his crying child. I right away connected with this image, I'm happy I catched most of what I wanted at the time.

1 week old... plus a couple days. Yeah a little late, we were busy. =P But we were happy and proud as can be.

My parents and my mother's cousins at a dinner party. No, I don't know what Milda (upper left) is doing?

Bad parenting alert!!

Tonight I am fessing up to our family's bad sleeping habits during school holidays. My kids are natural night owls. Whenever they get the opportunity, their body clocks set themselves to late nights and equally late mornings. Getting them to sleep before ten is nigh impossible and poor Molly will lie awake in bed until midnight fairly regularly. In some ways it suits the family during holidays because Hubby works afternoon shift and sleeping late is a necessity for him. If the kids sleep late too it makes for a quiet household in the morning. If the kids are good with the bedtime routine during holidays I let them have 10 mins of iPod touch time in bed before story and lights out.

End of confession.

This is Pippa. She's a dog. An alsation / collie cross, so I'm told. She's my parents' new dog. They used to be cat people. Pippa, essentially, is a cat dressed up as a dog. I am not joking.

Parents of 20.

Can you imagine?

To successfully raise the children, a mother and father must collaborate. To start, you and your partner should decide on the parenting beliefs you both adhere to. These guidelines may apply to co-sleeping, breastfeeding, punishment, or even schooling. So that both parents are on the same page with these parenting techniques, discuss them and establish rules together. Talk it out and come to an agreement based on your shared values and views when you and a partner disagree on a particular subject. In summary, while each parent may have a distinctive gait, they all must move in the same direction.

Additionally, do not be afraid to ask for family assistance even though your extended family may not be living under the same roof as you. Be in touch with friends, family members, and online parenting communities as well.
