Sometimes i wake up from a nightmare. And it feels so real. Am i just dreaming or going crazy?
The demons in my mind wait until i sleep, they are demons of the night, hidden in my black heart, scratching on it until they tear it appart.
It´s like paranoia - i can´t escape. I can run, i can hide - they find me in the dark.
There is a door in my mind - i closed it, i thought i threw the key away but they opend it and the nightmares make me go insane.
I want to stand up and fight them, throwing my daggers in them to push them back behind the door and close it forever. But sometimes, they find their way back and the fight against the nightmares starts from zero again.
Draining in the dark and feels paranoia is hitting on me.

Eyeing me suspiciously, an Acorn Woodpecker worries I am after its hidden stash of nuts in the Chisos Basin at Big Bend National Park, Brewster County, Texas.
This is a shot of the build up of condensation inside a stack of stone slabs wrapped in plastic. Seeing this shot on my computer screen I thought the droplets resembled prying eyes.

As a side note, I learned that the Western Kingbirds red crown patch is usually not visible but they flash the patch at unpredictable moments, especially when other birds invade their territory.
