For Macro Monadays 'On Top' theme - some water drops suspended on top of the tiny parachutes of a dandelion clock. Of which there are many in my garden.

The gulls have begun to return which makes me happy because I find them endlessly entertaining. One moment they can look elegant and the next, they might look like cranky old codgers! I spotted a dozen Ring-billed Gulls on ice-covered land which is beginning to defrost.

the meadowbuck beard (Tragopogon pratensis ) has huge parachutes for its seed, at least compared to the dandelion.

Three parachuters made quite the spectacle to kick off the ZZ Top Concert at the Marysville, OH balloon festival.
It is fascinating to watch as the wings go forward to slow the spoonbills down as they approach the rookery. They are such a beautiful bird to watch and they never disappoint us.
BNSF’s Parachute Local awakes the small Western Slope community of De Beque, Colorado with whiteface BNSF GP39E #2745 in the lead. After the previous run was annulled, it was nice to get redemption with the morning sun cooperating.

After realizing Deseret was a bust for the first day of our trip, we headed south, then tracked the UP’s Glenwood Springs Sub in search of a train. Just west of De Beque, Colorado in an area known as Monuement Canyon, we intercepted the BNSF Parachute Job, which operates over Union Pacific’s trackage serving BNSF customers.
