A folded Paper Star
Has fallen to Earth from afar
And not been made for Eternity
Or do you believe in Infinity ?
Nothing will last forever
So don’t forget and always remember

Blah I'm sorry, I have like, ten other pictures that are exactly like this but whatever. I was preparing for another picture with those stars but I couldn't make enough in time... plus I feel really lousy today so I wanted to do something simple. I'll revisit my original idea soon, maybe.
Secret 18? I'm convinced I would be a much more peaceful person if I never had to drive. Stupid drivers irritate me.
Edit: Sorry guys, I replaced it with a different version with a much tighter crop. It was bugging me how similar it looked to other pictures I've done, but I like it better now
Looking Close on Friday theme: Shades of Brown
Thank you everyone for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated. HLCoF
For "Looking close... on Friday!" theme of " White on Black".
Just a 7mm wide strip of white printing paper, very quickly zig-zag folded and the ends glued together, It took nearly as long to find the glue as to cut and fold the paper! The resulting 'star' is just 5cm across and lit with a single desk lamp.
In retrospect, I think I might have done better to use a thinner and rougher paper to get a more textured look - but perhaps another time!
Corfield Lumax 50mm f1.9
Found this today while on a ' deleting old photos spree'.
Taken in another lifetime.
I miss my Cybershot,and it's silvery biscuitiness.
I'm just dropping in to say hi :)
Sorry all my flickr friends for not visiting you very frequently.
Life has been so hectic lately, there's hardly any time for my favorite thing in the world.... photography.
Don't you sometimes wish that life was simpler? easier?

........................................................................
so i was messing around with my dad's camera today and i so cannot wait to get my own someday. i am in love with the 50mm lens. so i also went through all of the pictures that i took yesterday and i heart them. they are so freaking adorable. and i got some of the boy where his face wasnt being covered. i was being sneaky. so anyways. today was a good one. went for a run this morning and it felt amazing except for already being hot out at 8 this morning. i think im gonna have to get up at sunrise in order to run at a comfortable temperature. then i hung out at home most of the day and went out to lunch with the boy and his dad. then back home to be a bum and paint my toes. haha. oh lazy days are always fun.
THANK YOU!! I love this so much! ♥
I've never seen a kawaii matchbox with 4 drawers...so cute!!
Puakalehua makes the BEST matchboxes EVER!!
Today I had stars on my mind and originally set out to do a rather sinister image, but hope crept in and won the day! I tried my hand at a stop-motion video for the first time and learned of the time-consuming process it takes when you are *alone* and using a remote on a two-second timer to trigger each image. The sun caught up with me and I had to work around that to shoot, but it all came together in the end!

"Paper Stars", self-portrait shot on the Sony A7II and 50mm lens...and a lot of boxes.
Our internet has been a little sucky the past few days, and I ended up making a bunch more of these paper stars. :D
I've had the paper for a while, but I soon get bored of making the same ones. ^^;
I think it's better now though, so I shall catch up on uploads finally! :x
*First photo of mine to hit Explore, yaay! n__n*
yesterday it rained for most of the morning before the sun came out in its glory. we went swimming and on the way back my little girl made these lucky stars out of thin strips of paper. she has jars & jars full of these little, plump, paper stars, all different colors and cutsie patterns, but my faves are the pastel coloured ones!
origami, amazing japanese paper art..these are hello kitty lucky wishing stars and they bring good luck when you make them and when you give them away.
Whateva! It's still gonna hurt when I chuck it at ya.
I need you to hold still though, my aim is lousy.
and closer please.
closer
closer
oh wait, step back. Too close stinky breath.
view while ... one more step back please.

When I first saw this beautiful star on Jorge’s flickr-site I was impressed and thrilled!
And then - quite unexpectedly - I got a test-fold inquiry by Jorge !!
I’m so very honored about this invitation!!
It was a challenge collapsing this special folded hexagon, but I’m very happy that I could figure it out :)! At the very first time of folding this beauty I lacked a bit of courage … :)
So, thanks really a lot for your trust in me, Jorge !!!
Please have a look at Jorge’s interesting flickr-site here;

hey,
today, my family and our neighbors had the first barbecue in 2011 it was pretty cool :]
oh and i learned how to make paperstars, my first one was blue ( i know all of you wanted to know this)
oh please leave notes, i loveee them :D
Design by Frédérique Guéret. My first go at one of these, despite having had the paper and book for a few years. It was a nice slow craft and it reminded me I need to do more of this.
[explore #145 on 11.09.08]
I spent great part of the afternoon trying to learn how to make paper stars (instead of studying, of course). do you know when you insist on doing something until you are successful? well, that's what happened with paper stars. it was becoming a matter of principle to me.
and after many many attempts, finally I made this one. and it's not perfect, but I'm proud of myself.
other worthy note things of the day:
* someone called me " a concentrate of strangeness' :D
* I'm pretty sure I ate a mosquito T_T
on black!!

made by some very creative hands a Xmas time.
Today is the 12th day of Xmas so a timely post perhaps
Also pursuing happiness by looking at and for the stars.
I hope that there are many stars in your year 2014
and thank you all for being such stars after Hugo's death. We have found a beautiful Dalmation puppy called Cloud to live with us and he will probably arrive on Friday. We were so lucky to find him and his most caring breeder so we are looking forward to that with great anticipation.
