Do chameleons—like the handsome Panther Chameleon (Furcifer pardalis) photographed here—dream? Some recent studies seem to suggest that they do, and REM has been seen in slumbering chams! Sleeping habits vary across species, but most will find an area near their favorite feeding/hunting spot and nestle down amidst the foliage so as to avoid being spotted by nocturnal predators. Many will even drop from their branches at the slightest provocation, tumbling to the ground in hopes that the reason for their fall is a hasty escape from what could have been a predator.
This is a captive panther chameleon and, interestingly, this is the only time I've ever seen him purse his lips, as if caught in a soft snore!
This Panther Chameleon was enjoying the sunshine and not in a hurry to move, however it has its eyes trained on us.

In my travels tonight I came upon some woods and was inspired to bring out some little used avs - the panther scouts...I'm not sure if they are probing or protecting the perimeter, but either way I thought they looked kind of cool, so you all get to see them.

La première fois que j’étais allée au Parc des Félins, un médiateur du parc me l’avait montrée sinon je la loupais. Je savais que les panthères grimpaient mais je n’imaginais pas voir une panthère dans un arbre à une telle hauteur.
When I started hiking about six years ago now I made a list of places that I wanted to see, Panther Falls was the first thing that I'd written down, but it's 3 1/2 hours south of my house, indeed maps took me into Oregon to get to it. (Crossed 'the bridge of the Gods', the name became self explanatory when I drove over because I was talking to the Man all the way over....)
I have never experience mist like this, the air was wet, the world was green and the sounds of the falls was a dream, it really is a tiny piece of heaven on Earth.
Now the conundrum. Out of the 3,046 cataloged waterfalls in Washington, NW Waterfall Survey cites Panther Falls specifically when it explains why it took the directions to falls off of their maps that don't have sanctioned trails due to the increased amount of deaths and erosion taking place in these amazing places. To get this shot one must step over the fence and walk on what was once lush green moss, but is now just wet rocks. The Boy Scout in me cringed, but I always practice leave no trace, I didn't touch anything green, but the folks before me did or else I couldn't have got this shot.... so.....I'd caution safety for yourselves and respect for the land if you go, and I think that you should.
The Florida panther is tawny brown on the back and pale gray underneath. It is one of 32 Puma concolor subspecies known by many names – puma, cougar, mountain lion, painter, catamount and panther.
Florida panthers once prowled and flourished in woodlands and swamps throughout the Southeast. When European settlers arrived in the 1600s, the clear-cutting, building and other human activities that destroy, degrade and fragment habitat began, and the fear and misconceptions that led to panther persecution took root. Today, the panther is recognized as Florida’s official state animal but it is one the most endangered mammals on Earth.

Captured this with three RAW shots at -2..0..+2 EV. Digital blending in Photoshop CS6. Decreased the overall saturation with Hue/Saturation in Photoshop. Curve adjustment to decrease the overall contrast. 1 layer mask in soft light mode at 50% gray, using brush tool to lighten and darken some areas of the image, to bring out details. Topaz DeNoise to reduce noise.

Le mâle, à gauche, se reconnait facilement à son oreille dont il manque la pointe . Il a la face plus arrondie que la femelle et il est un peu plus gros. J'ai eu de la chance de les voir ensemble car il est le plus souvent perché en haut d'un arbre.

The famous Panther Creek Falls. Words really don’t do this place justice and I’ve not (yet) been to another waterfall like it. It’s a little bit of a hike from Portland, but that’s good since it helps keep the rabble out :) It can also be a bit dangerous getting to the bottom of the falls, so be careful if you decide to go.
This is my first image from here so I decided to go with the classic view.

The forests around the Columbia River where it flows between Mt Hood and Mt Adams are just extraordinary. This is a forest scene along Panther Creek (a tributary of the Columbia River).

It was a fiery sunset today evening at Panther beach. It was a tough task to get here hoping boulders and wet slippery rocks with algae. But it does give a rewarding feeling once you get there (safely of course)
This is a Panther J72 of 1972. I have taken photos of this one quite often already because the car belongs to a friend of my dad. The J72 was the first car produced by Panther Westwinds, a manufacturer of sports cars based in Surrey, UK.

Was able to sneak away for a little waterfall adventure over the weekend and paid a visit to Panther Creek Falls. This falls is just an amazing wall of water engulfed in rich green moss! The powerful mist was refreshing but made it nearly impossible to keep the lens dry.
Re-editing a favorite from the past. This one is a selfie from Panther Creek Falls. Shot in early spring, the curtain of water on the right dies down to a trickle in the summer.

Re-camo-ified Panther
Few other modifications here and there, but mainly just coloring changes.
I took a lot of pictures to get this right lol. Anyway, nixed the olive and decided to save it all for a real pattern on a square tank. There was a serious lack of olive parts in the proper sizes for me to continue on this tank. I am much happier with it off and the ability to add more of the other colors.
Expect some awesome stuff in the coming weeks. I have pre-taken a lot of photos of new vehicles so I can post while I am in college.
