At Fabyan Forest Preserve, there are perfectly maintained areas and some hidden away in the trees that are ignored. It takes a lot of money to maintain this large old estate on the Fox River.

Holly is always happy if she can have the arm of the couch with the "Cat Daddy"/Ken! I think she doesn't care for wine, but you can see all the cat hair on his shirt- she has had lots of love and pampering today!
Happy Caturday! - Pampered
While walking the West Beach Trail with a view looking to the southeast across the waters of Long Lake in this part of Indiana Dunes National Park. My thinking in composing this image was to simply have the swan on the lake waters more or less centered but also have a sweeping view across that by angling my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward. That would bring up the horizon and help minimize what I felt was the negative space of the overcast skies. The distant horizon with the trees and forest would then be in the upper portion of the image and add a contrast to the lake waters.
The owner of this boat clearly puts in a lot of time caring for it. What better place to show it off than the Canals of Venice?
