Von einer der Briefbomben verletzt wurde Silvana Meixner. Sie wirkte mit am Aufbau der Minderheitenredaktion des ORF (Österreichischer Rundfunk) und präsentiert die Sendereihe "Heimat Fremde Heimat".

Franz Fuchs committed series of attacks with letter bombs between 1993 and 1996. It was racist motivated. My boss at that time was a Hungarian immigrant, so we were potential victims and we were aware of that. No such letter was sent to us and so our hands remained unharmed. But 4 people died and 15 were injured - permanent injuries, some very heavily injured, one lost both hands.
Zur Zeit der rassistisch motivierten Anschlagsserien des Franz Fuchs ( = BBA Bajuwarische Befreiungsarmee) war ich an einem Theater engagiert, dessen Direktor ein ungarischer Immigrant war, also ins Opferschema des Franz Fuchs paßte. Neben meinen Hauptaufgaben Regieassistenz, Licht und Ton, Inspizienz, Requisiten etc., mußte ich auch immer wieder im Büro aushelfen, hatte also auch mit der Korrespondenz zu tun. Wir erhielten keine Briefbombe, die Hände des Direktors, des Sekretärs und auch meine blieben unverletzt, Durch die Briefbomben wurden zum Teil nicht die Adressaten selber, sondern deren Mitarbeiter, zu deren Aufgabenbereich das Öffnen der Briefe gehört, verletzt - so zum Beispiel beim Brief an eine meiner Studienkolleginnen: Arabella Kiesbauer (dunkelhäutig, da ihr Vater Ghanaer ist): ihre Assistentin wurde verletzt als sie ihre Arbeit verrichtete und den Brief öffnete. Einige Briefe konnten auch abgefangen werden, so etwa der an Angela Resetarits, der Mutter von Lukas Resetarits und Willy Resetarits (Professor Kurt Ostbahn) adressierte. Insgesamt 4 Tote, 15 Verletzte, schwere Verletzungen, bleibende Verletzungen, einer verlor beide Hände.
Mein Mitgefühl gilt den Opfern, meine Dankbarkeit den Aufklärern der Tat, meine Hochachtung all jenen, die sich aktiv gegen Rassismus wenden, die sich aktiv gegen Intoleranz und Ignoranz, also gegen Anschauungen wie "some things and people count, most don`t" wenden.

Mr. Zoom and I are still sharply focused on lines and hands and moving forward. When I saw this palm reader right there on the sidewalk, I slowed down just a little. After all, she WAS holding a HAND and examining lines.
I thought I heard the reader say the word DEMI.
I stopped. Inched closer. I could see that Mr. Zoom was still walking but I couldn’t call attention to myself by calling him back. I pretended to be rooting through my big purse. They paid no attention to me but I certainly heard THEM.

Palmistry invokes a sense of curiosity, mystic, fear, and thrill within all. Highly prevalent and in vogue throughout the world, this practice has roots that can be traced to the great ancient country, that is India.
I know a psychic who reads her own palms and her findings are personal. She keeps her fists shut tight and she sleeps on her side, well maybe she knows something I don't know.
Another batch for this evening’s contribution to my 100x project, taken earlier this year and largely processed using Affinity Photo on the iPaddle.
#87 Uninverse - A simple two-image in-camera multiple exposure of a scene on one of my local walks. The first image was taken while holding the camera upside down, and then the images were aligned in the viewfinder with the camera the right way up to create a letterbox effect.
#88 Seismic Chromatography - This started out as a fairly unprepossessing image like that at www.flickr.com/gp/pixelatedsky/37q4J95i9c using an in-camera multiple exposure of several ICMs of vegetation. It was a bit bland so I souped up the colours and added a rippled effect to get something totally abstract.
#89 Hypersonic - Another idle play which started out as an “I wonder what we can do with this filter”. For what it’s worth the image is of a clearing in a pine forest in Skiathos, Greece, but with a circular halftone pattern added at about 40% opacity and a Soft Light blend.
#90 Alien Stargate - This is based on #91, an image of palm leaves from an abandoned beach hut in Skiathos, but in full colour with a mirror filter added.
#91 Palmistry - This is a monochrome and toned rendition of some abandoned palm leaves on Skiathos, processed in Silver Efex with blue/yellow toning and lots of structure to bring out the textures.

Recently, I celebrated a milestone birthday and one of the things I did to honor that I have made it this far :) was to do something I have never done before! And that was to go to a magic show/seance in Bisbee, Arizona. This is a necklace that I purchased in Bisbee, a reminder and a memory. And the trinket holder hand? I collect hands and other pieces of ceramic. Some go on my wall, some on a table. Some are modern, some vintage. Some have absolutely no purpose except for the fact that I like to admire them,others are useful, like this palmistry hand jewelry holder. I think the items here go together well.

- I'm not a believer, but here are some principles:
Chiromancy (palmistry, palm reading) consists of the practice of evaluating a person's character or future life by "reading" the palm of that person's hand. Various "lines" ("heart line", "life line", etc.) and "mounts" (or bumps) (chirognomy) purportedly suggest interpretations by their relative sizes, qualities, and intersections.
It is custom to assume that the left hand shows potential in an individual, and the right shows realized personality. Some sayings about the significance include "The future is shown in the right, the past in the left"; "The left hand is the one we are born with, and the right is what we have made of it".
