This paddler on the Waikato River may have been too focused on working against the current to notice the sunrise unfolding in front of him?!
Another from my 'Paddle Away' series, captured late afternoon - 'Popeye Village' - Anchor Bay, limits of Mellieha (Mala). The colour & tones of the sea provided an ideal backdrop for this simple composition.
Thank you for your time to view.
Wishing you all a splendid day !
I couldn't really figure this place out as I paddled by. There's no sign, in fact, it doesn't even look like a business. Makes me wonder if it isn't a private club or something. There aren't any hotels close by either. But, it did make a pretty shot..:)
Two years ago I saw a shot by lakaluka that I just loved. It left an impression on me so much that I decided to take a pic as an ode to that shot. It was a 45 degree shot at the beach . She was on a paddle board with water beading on her skin. I really like how it grabbed me and placed me right in the middle of summer. It's strange how a pic can illicit emotion, not in the dirty way many of you would think, it just gave me great summer vibes.
Here is the link to her pic

Here is my recreation.
A couple of stand-up paddlers have the whole lake to themselves as they head off into the sunset in Niagara on the Lake.
There is magic in the feel of a paddle and the movement of a canoe, a magic compounded of distance, adventure, solitude and peace.

Early morning fishing expedition on Gurd Lake in Grundy Lake Provincial Park, Ontario. You really have to like fishing a lot to go out this early - or you have to like photography a lot to take photos of them.

Cali back in the sea!!!
On a warm evening nothing like a dip when you have to cool down.
Llandanwg, between Barmouth and Harlech, is famous for its church which stands just a stone’s throw from the sea. The beach is sheltered from strong winds, making it a perfect place for relaxation. It’s popular with fishermen – the local catch includes dogfish, bass, flatfish and mackerel. The beach is accessible by a path through the dunes from a car park. This west facing, shallow shelving beach is a part of the Snowdonia National Park. There are dog restriction areas on the beach. Nearby Mochras – better known as Shell Island – is a popular spot accessible by low-tide causeway, with a beach, dunes and an amazing variety of shells. On Shell Island you will find a large sandy beach, variety of wild flowers and breath-taking views. The area caused a sensation with the British Geological Survey in the 1960’s thanks to it’s research.
The descent of the "Italia" from the little town of Limone sul Garda. A regular service between the villages and towns on Lake Garda is maintained with this paddle boat.
When it has a mind to do so Great Crested Grebe's can 'scoot' across the water at quite a speed
How do they do it?
No mystery... Two enoumous paddles working at high revs!
Blink... and you'll miss it!
