A festive meal of popular dishes from Padang, West Sumatra. It is a common way of food serving in a Padangnese restaurant, a variety of the dishes (15 to 20 kinds) are served right on the table so that the diners can choose which dishes they would like to eat.
This photograph was taken in August from High Street Car Park looking towards Parliament House (in the foreground) and surrounding landmarks.
The fireworks on the left of the photograph were released from the Padang (open field facing Singapore National Gallery, with the distinctive top). Other fireworks were released from Marina Bay, with these fireworks seen above the Parliament House and in front of Marina Bay Sands.
Padang food is the cuisine of the Minangkabau people of West Sumatra, Indonesia.Padang food is famous for its rich taste of succulent coconut milk and spicy chili.
