Overworked feeling :)

Goldie says that lots of hiking and running around the little wilderness campground we stayed in really wears an old girl out! She has the time of her life up here!

There are so many little pine warblers around here right now I can't even begin to count them. The same goes for palm warblers. The American Goldfinches are hanging out on occasion as well. Sometimes there is only one, other times several. There is a lot of activity in the tree tops but I cannot always tell what little bird is up there.

Two bluebird couples are still hanging out, but the couples are beginning to be a little bit cranky with each other. There is plenty of food as well as plenty of houses to choose from. I hope both couples will nest here. Phil the red-bellied woodpecker seems to have lost interest in all of the houses but the bluebird couples love the one that was installed for him.

As for me, my hands are slowly recovering so I am getting back into my hobbies a little at a time.

However, I am trying not to overwork them. I need to be ready to raise butterflies by the end of February.

I hope you have a lovely day, happy snapping.

Doesn't look real, does it? I think it's been 'lightroomed' too much. Anyway, it's going on.

Taking this picture was a blast! Thank you so much Moose, V, Suki and Woody - I loved taking that picture together with you and I think I never laughed so hard ever before.

I'm proud to announce that my blogging colleagues who joined me in this picture and and Moose (owner of MUSU) are working on a picture series together, that I will be publishing on this steam soon. The story is about all the funny events of a overworked Creator, sharing a flat with his quirky and cheerful bloggers.

I hope you guys enjoy this picture. I'm very much looking forward to take more pictures together with MUSU's Herd!

I'm back, and is it exciting to be back! Feeling calm, happy and refreshed.

As someone who often overworks herself, if your anything like me, burnout is gonna get you. I've always struggled with my SL/RL balance but recently, for my own mental health, I've had to step away, catch up on some 'me-time' and regain that healthy balance. A little nudge to take breaks, and always do whats best for you. SL will be here when you get back.

What a house to kick off with! The Whitaker House from The Green Door. Its striking presence is a show stopper in any landscape. It would work perfectly as a modern suburban home or out in the countryside for some farmhouse glamour. Its 286 prims which for its huge size is a perfect low prim, large family home. Get it at the mainstore!

Also featuring classic favourites from The Little Branch, Studio Skye and Fantaik

So I did this picture a while ago as AD for my lovely sister Kaorinette who put the effort into retexturing and overworking this amazing set.

It is one of my favorites, so you can imagine how exited I was when she talked about overworking it for us. For the male version you have the option to wear it as suit or like I did here..to wear a long skirt with your pants too. It is just faboulus and the textures and materials are on point!

I adore this masterpiece and her trust in me to be able to showcase it good enough <3

RL was holding me back more than I planned this week so everything comes out a lil bit late here.

I apologize for that but it was a urge to put all the effort into this character he deserved when I created him.

Hope you like it <3

Enjoy!

This poor lens is one of those that is so badly damaged that it becomes my favourite Biotar. The colours are like no other lens I ever used. I maybe overworked this one and this is not so evident, but colors are cool (but not cold).

I reversed rear element too. Now the swirl is gone and it looks more like Triopolan. It glows even more.

I had some extra time to process my photo this morning and decided to overwork it. Happy Sliders Sunday!

I just finished my Lunar New Year vacation in Japan and right started my work next morning. I really appreciate those dear friends who care about my overworking. The advice is so much meaningful to me. I should slow down my steps and love myself more in the Year of the Pig 2019. I'll catch up with all of you my friends, but I think it might be a little slowly though. Please forgive me. :-)

dedication

this picture is dedicated to the valiant, tireless and overworked women and men around the world who, at great risk to themselves and to their families and friends, fight, sacrifice and increasingly die heroically trying to treat, save, comfort and console the infected and keep safe their communities.

in this time of great human suffering, uncertainty and angst, my heart weeps for these amazing people with tears of profound awe, sorrow and, most of all, thanks.

please, if you are able, raise your voice and your wallet to support and fight hard from the outside so that those on the front lines inside can do their best safely with the personal protective equipment they terribly need and so-richly deserve.

life is short. please do not forget to share the love you have while you can.

finally, many thanks to each of you for your consistent, heartwarming friendship and kind words of support. you put smiles on my face each and every day and i am deeply appreciative.

keep the faith and be safe.

Faint tire tracks mark the path to a single outbuilding far apart from the rest of the farm site. Several clues around the shack suggest this might have served as a quiet country retreat for someone who needed time alone, perhaps an overworked housewife or a stressed farmer. In a world gone crazy with the noise of chaos, a lot more people could use a place to quietly reflect these days.

Green Power Plant - abandoned power plant of a former steelworks

A picture, I have taken last year. I gave it a little overwork with PS and some NIK filters.

What a gem this was and the light just had us taking shot after shot of this old workhorse :)

June 2022

Willie was overworked on a farm most of his life. My friend Susan rescued him, so he is loved and well-cared for now. Unfortunately, he has serious physical problems because of his previous mistreatment. But he is finally in good hands.

A champion of the working man has never yet been known to die of overwork.

I love how the snow can transform a usually dull scene into something magical.

I usually like my images with more contrast, but this scene was so serene when I took it that my goal was to not overwork it, so there was just a crop and a couple tiny adjustments made.

This shot might be a bit overworked for some, and maybe for me too, but nevertheless I thought I'd give it a run out for the novelty value.

DBS Shed 66162 is seen dropping down the bank into Shotton High Level station with brakes on as it approaches Hawarden Bridge over the River Dee with the 10.29 Margam - Dee Marsh (6M86) steel train.

There's a whole network of well-used cycle paths around here, including one just to the left of the bridge girders so you can bounce across the river along with the train if so inclined. Just behind me is Dee Marsh Junction and the entrance to the Tata steelworks, the destination of this train. I'm stood on Hawarden Bridge station taking this - a place you're only likely to call at if you're a rail enthusiast or a Tata employee. In fact, seeing as the station is surrounded by private land, it would seem to be only accessible to non-employees if you approach using one of the footpaths, or by train of course.

The Black Backed Gull (I think) was a courtesy bonus and reward for the walk.

September 20th, 2010

Why is life so difficult? Why can't we just go back to the old days when it was easy? Why can't there be such a thing as a time machines so we can all avoid the future and live in our past? oh how i would love that...everything would be so much easier...

i think i'm overworking myself physically. I'm swimming everyday, running twice everyday and i hardly eat anything. I need to be more healthy.

hope everyone has a terrific tuesday tmr! sorry i'm such a glum person today, i'll make up for it, i promise (:

thanks everyone for the amazing feedback and the funny comments haha ♥

Brian looks like he deserves a well-earned cup of tea after all his hard work!

One of my wackier snail photos, for Smile on Saturday theme 'Picture a Proverb'. Assuming it was too ridiculous to post (and couldn't think of a title anyway) - when this theme was announced the photo seemed to suit this particular proverb of biblical origins where it means that the church must honor and care for their hard-working pastors (not snails) to prevent them from becoming overworked and underpaid.

No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.

There once was a donkey named Joe,

Whose back leg was painfully slow.

A vet fixed him right,

Now he kicks with delight,

And races wherever he goes!

I don't remember where we got this metal donkey with a repaired broken back leg. I think he well represents World Donkey Day and serves as a reminder of the challenges donkeys face, such as overwork and neglect.

Ever feel like you're hanging by a thread? I'm running on fumes and in dire need of a vacation...

Supermom I'm not I guess...

This was an October evening back in 2014. Large chunks of rock (much of it originally from Norway) have been placed here at different times to protect the eroding shoreline. From time to time it has been moved and added to, the most aesthetically pleasing being Bardon Breccia rock. Nowadays new rock armour comes from closer to home in Leicestershire.

During excavations here footprints have been discovered in layers of buried clay and rock that are believed to be the earliest found outside of Africa. Also axes have been found, believed to indicate the earliest human occupation of Northern Europe.

Sadly, these defences are over-worked and the coastline continues to be eroded.

This photograph is a stitch of 6 'portrait' images taken with a Canon TS-E 24mm tilt shift lens, locked off on a tripod - 3 long exposure images for the sea and 3 normally exposed images for the impressive sky and cloud formation as the sun lowered behind me, illuminating the cloud base in a spectacular fashion.

Thank you for taking the time to view and comment on some of my images.

MacroMondays group theme will be Paper this is an attempt at the theme.

My idea was to make the paper look like the bottoms of curtains hung from the window with the sun shining through, the sun has shone brightly a lot just recently.

The problem is I have overworked this in an online editor which means the work will not be suitable for the theme.

So now back to the drawing board.

If you are into creative macro shots I recommend a visit to the group.

thank you for all your gracious comments and faves!

Ever see a fire truck parked in front of a donut shop? Didn't think so. I do not dislike the police, so don't get me wrong. But I'll tell you this true story:

It was 1986 and my girlfriend had a breakin-in in progress going on at the back door of her home. I was in a distant suburb. When she called the police they told her there would be up to a half-hour delay in response to this!!!

What did she do? She called the Fire Department who had a truck there in minutes!! The would-be murderer, rapist, criminal (who knows what he was?) fled immediately before the siren blaring trucks and fire crew even got right on the scene!

Woman saved from a nasty crime by... the FIRE DEPARTMENT!! Apparently this is not an uncommon occurence in L.A. and probably other cities too.

But to be fair to the police---yes, this makes for an entertaining story, but the blame is not with the completely overworked LAPD that is swamped with way more calls than they can handle. But NO THANKS to the City of Los Angeles which does not hire enough policemen to handle all the crimes going on in the city!!!

Cops work hard and relentlessly. There is no job more stressful and filled with more unpredictability than that of a police officer. They are called upon for all manner of crazy things from domestic disputes to murders-in-progress to gangland warfare and every possible crazy way one could imagine the legal code could be broken.

How would you like to pull over a suspicious vehicle on a dark street in L.A.'s Barrio or Watts and walk up behind a carful of gang-bangers? Well, for one thing you aren't going to do that! The minute you see what it is after lighting up the suspect's vehicle you are going to call for back up. But anything could happen from that point on and you're on your own until the backup arrives. Want that job? Didn't think so. Is it right to deny these people a break from the stress they face? I would certainly want to relax with a cup of coffee after almost getting stabbed in the face during a traffic stop.

The above incident with the womsn was in 1986. Things have only gotten worse in the 39 years since.
