Part of one of the nine cylinder head covers with mounting nuts of the engine of the "Cap San Diego". The "Cap San Diego" is a still seaworthy museum ship (built in 1961) and is moored at the Overseas Bridge (in German: "Überseebrücke") at the Port of Hamburg.

Arkadia (Polish pronunciation: [arˈkadja]) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Nieborów, within Łowicz County, Łódź Voivodeship, in central Poland. It lies approximately 6 km east of Łowicz and 50 km north-east of the regional capital Łódź.
The village has an approximate population of 250. Arkadia is famous for its English Garden Park set up by Helena Radziwiłł in 1779 with the designers Szymon Bogumil Zug and Henryk Ittar.
In the 70s of the 18th century a new style in gardening called English style appeared in Poland. It originated at the beginning of the century in England and then was gradually spreading across the other European countries. The English style definitely opposed artificiality and regularity of baroque gardens. It promoted unrestricted and emotional compositions of sentimental or symbolic forms and architectural constructions referring to ancient and medieval works of arts as well as to the everyday life in the country, often also to the overseas exotic forms. The style had been transformed together with philosophic, ideological and esthetical changes of the epoch from sentimental forms to the vision of romantic garden.

SÜDAFRIKA( South-Africa), Cango Tropfsteinhöhle bei Oudtshoorn,
Die Cango Caves sind ein Höhlensystem in der südafrikanischen Provinz Westkap und werden zu den schönsten Höhlensystemen der Welt gezählt.
Das Höhlensystem liegt in den Swartbergen (in der Kleinen Karoo nördlich von Oudtshoorn) und besteht aus drei Abschnitten (Cango 1, 2 und 3) mit einer Gesamtlänge von über vier Kilometern.
Die erste und größte Kammer ist etwa 90 Meter lang, 50 Meter breit und bis zu 18 Meter hoch. Der schmalste Abschnitt („Letterbox“ genannt) hat einen Abstand von 60 cm von der Decke bis zum Boden und ist ca. 5 Meter lang.
Alle Höhlen enthalten umfangreiche Tropfstein-Formationen von beeindruckender Größe.
Geschichte
Die im Eingangsbereich der Höhle gemachten Funde belegen eine lange menschliche Nutzung der Höhle seit etwa 10.000 Jahren.
1780 erfolgte die (Wieder-)Entdeckung der Höhle durch einen Hirten. Im selben Jahr erkundete der Farmer van Zyl den Beginn der ersten Kammer des Höhlensystems direkt hinter dem Eingang.
1792 wurde die Höhle weiter erkundet und eine zweite Kammer entdeckt.
1972 wurde die 270 Meter lange Höhle „Cango 2“ entdeckt, die Fortsetzung der – heute als „Cango 1“ bezeichneten – zuerst entdeckten Höhle.
1975 wurde die 1600 Meter lange Höhle „Cango 3“ entdeckt.
The Cango Caves are located in Precambrian limestones at the foothills of the Swartberg range near the town of Oudtshoorn, in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The principal cave is one of the country's finest, best known, and most popular tourist caves and attracts many visitors from overseas. Although the extensive system of tunnels and chambers go on for over 4 km (2+1⁄2 mi), only about a quarter of this is open to visitors, who may proceed into the cave only in groups supervised by a guide.
The Overseas Railroad in the Florida Keys stretched more than 100 miles and was completed in 1912. The Over Sea Railroad was destroyed in the 1935 hurricane and was replaced by a highway for automobiles.
Wikipedia: The African Renaissance Monument (French: Le Monument de la Renaissance Africaine) is a 49 meter tall bronze statue located on top of one of the twin hills known as Collines des Mamelles, outside Dakar, Senegal. Built overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the Ouakam suburb, the statue was designed by the Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiaby after an idea presented by president Abdoulaye Wade and built by Mansudae Overseas Projects, a company from North Korea. Site preparation on top of the 100-meter high hill began in 2006, and construction of the bronze statue began 3 April 2008.
Originally scheduled for completion in December 2009, delays stretched into early 2010, and the formal dedication occurred on 4 April 2010, Senegal's "National Day", commemorating the 50th anniversary of the country's independence from France. It is the tallest statue in Africa.

We went to CANADA in September 2016. This next set of images is from Ottawa, just a one of the few of the places that we visited. It is a fantastic place to visit. This batch of 5 is the second of the current postings.
We brought our overseas based friend to Tagaytay Highlands. After taking our snacks, these birds were unmindful of our presence and helped themselves with out left overs.

Hindeloopen is one of the eleven cities of Friesland.
Hindeloopen received city rights in 1225 and in 1368 it became a member of the Hanseatic League. Since the 12th and 13th century, shippers of Hindeloopen undertook journeys to the North and Baltic Sea Coasts. The strong overseas connections with foreign countries and infrequent contact with the hinterland were probably the reasons for the developing of the Hindeloopen language; a mixture of West Frisian, English, Danish, and Norwegian.
The shipping trade brought the population of Hindeloopen a great prosperity. The 17th and 18th century were especially golden times. At that time, the people of Hindeloopen spent a lot of money in Amsterdam on precious fabrics and objects, which were supplied through the Dutch East India Company (VOC). The rich town developed in those days her own costume and a completely individual style with colorful painted walls and furniture.
In the small streets some sea captains houses remind of this time of glory. You can see an anchor hanging on the façades of these houses, in those years a sign, that the captain could still accept freight. Ballots have not been sent out to all of the New York State members of the United States Military overseas. That's over 340,000 votes. In 2008 our military votes didn't count. It looks like the Democrat majority in the House and Senate will hold true and not allow our members of the military overseas to vote. They could quite possibly be the votes to decide important races. Call your congressman and Senators to see if your state has sent out their ballots.

Saint Augustine is the historic headquarters city of the Florida East Coast Railway dating from 1885 when Henry Flagler established his offices in the city, some 10 years before the FEC name came into existence. The road built three office towers in the 1920s that served as the railroad's headquarters until 2006 when they were donated to Flagler College and the railroad relocated its leadership and administration to Jacksonville. Two cast relief concrete logos still proudly adorn the two covered corridors that connect the three buildings fronting on lovely outdoor courtyards. They feature the 'overseas' logo that shows a train steaming out over Long Key Viaduct on the line's remarkable Key West Extension which was only in service from 1912 to 1935. Florida East Coast Railway - General Office Buildings. Henry M. Flagler built the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) to link his resort empire and establish the east coast of Florida as 'The American Riviera.' Flagler, partner with John D. Rockefeller in Standard Oil, developed the Atlantic shoreline with a chain of luxury hotels from Jacksonville to Key West. Perhaps Flagler's greatest achievement was the construction of the Key West Extension finished shortly before his death in 1913. By 1916, the FEC Railway included 23 railroads, terminals, and bridge companies along 739 miles of track. Steamships linked the railroad at Miami to Nassau, Bahamas, and at Key West to Havana, Cuba. The Florida East Coast Hotel Company owned 14 resorts joined by the rail lines. In St. Augustine, Flagler's 1888 railway station west of downtown was replaced by three office towers built starting from south to north in 1922, 1923 and 1926. They served as the Railway's headquarters until 2006, when the FEC provided a $7.2 million gift-in-equity, making possible the transfer of the property to Flagler College. The College is committed to preservation of the buildings and adapting them for College uses.

As we were arriving at the Overseas Passenger Terminal this morning, we noticed that we may have a problem... There was a humongous ocean liner in the way! The Queen Victoria was in port so we had to deviate our plan. After a mad dash around to the Cahill Expressway, we took the elevator up and were presented with a stunning view of Circular Quay.
This was towards the end of the sunrise, with a bit of colour starting to punch through the thick, cloak of cloud cover.
