24.07.2023 The day started cloudy with rain during the morning but gradually improved during the afternoon ending with this Sunset at 20.59hrs The cloud overhead looked threatening but produced only a light shower as it passed over me at the same time this shot was taken.

Two 60 tonne overhead cranes, built 1942, in the MotorWorld München - these cranes date back to the time when the building was part of the Ausbesserungswerk München-Freimann.
The building - including these two cranes - is a listed structure.

While photographing the lone Snow Bunting, we heard and saw a small group of Sandhill Cranes flying overhead, followed by another group, and soon there were dozens of Cranes landing in a nearby field. We quickly made our way over to where the action was, and by the time we got there, about 80 or more Cranes were enjoying the open water in a farmer's field.
What started out as a late afternoon shoot of the walkable tetrahedron steel pyramid on top of a spoil tip in Bottrop turned into a rather exciting, rain-swept endeavor as a thunderstorm passed right overhead.
After the Skimmers refilled their pontoon tanks they banked left and headed over our vantage point and back towards the fire. There were 6 of them and they flew in formation, 12 seconds apart. Turnaround time was in the neighbourhood of 10 - 12 minutes.
