We shall overcome,
We shall overcome,
We shall overcome, some day.
Oh, deep in my heart,
I do believe
We shall overcome, some day.
We'll walk hand in hand,
We'll walk hand in hand,
We'll walk hand in hand, some day.
Oh, deep in my heart,
We shall live in peace,

It expresses my feelings of determination that we shall overcome this Coronavirus pandemic, it is not easy now and will not be easy in the near future but with the will to band together with love we can overcome and move on. We are strong and must be patient while our scientists find a solution, we owe it to our children and grandchildren. Sending loving thoughts and friendship to you all.
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
We traveled to Sequoia National Park in winter. It's a challenging time to visit this location, even when there isn't a federal government shutdown reducing the staff to only the essential rangers required for safety.
Unfortunately, though near the entrance the skies were relatively clear, and the temperatures were in the 50s, the conditions at elevation were thick fog with ice covered roads. Worse, many people were taking advantage of the free entry to the park and ignoring the posted signs for snow chains. So, getting to the Sequoia groves proved impossible, and we returned to our hotel, but not before seeing these beautiful gnarled old oak trees near the entrance in the soft warm setting sunlight.
Visit Sequoia National Park; but, be advised, winter travel can be difficult, and give the rangers their due - especially when they are working at skeleton levels with no pay during a government shutdown!

“ I know you will never be a beautiful butterfly, but there is nothing wrong with being a beautiful moth. I never once saw a butterfly fly at night, but you … you will fly under the stars at night and under the clear blue skies by day. You will have the best of both worlds. Shine like the sunshine little caterpillar. Feast on my Tamarisk tree and on the yellowing leaves of my spent Summer roses and be the best moth you can be!” - AP
Such is the good advice I gave to this beautiful caterpillar … ah, but he is much wiser than me! He understands his place in the world. There is nothing I can further teach him other than confirm his suspicions that I am a silly creature … ; 0)) He told me that the female moth of his species does not fly at all and they only eat during this stage of their development. Their time is short and their purpose is to procreate. I discovered that they are considered a pest to cultivated gardens so I am very happy that they found their way to my wildlife garden in their droves. Here they are safe and free to do their own thing and ensure the survival of their species. It is moments such as this when I feel most at one with the world …

EVERGLOW - COLDPLAY
I hope you will always bring the sunshine with you
the warmth of your smile that reaches
the dusty forgotten corners of my tangled heart
where melancholy tends to linger;
erasing all that life and love has taught me
please mute the inner voice that always preaches
I hope you will perchance to dream a little
and meet me somewhere in the middle
surround me with pink fallen roses
their petals clinging tenderly to my tears
and let the big band play a tune upon my soul
pull my heartstrings taut as those upon an Irish fiddle
I hope that I will always find you there
standing close beside me come rain or shine
let our shadows be as one
gathering in the golden hour
fill us up with so much light
that the darkness will envy that you are mine
I hope that I will be forever
the part of you that you sought so long
and you will be the missing part
that once I only imagined existed
in the deepest and most sacred places
those spaces between my evening song
I hope that we will always be
united in every sense of the word
that the darkness will be overcome
that part of me that remains even now
when I have so much light surrounding me
when my soul is free and no longer
a caged and frightened bird
I hope that we will last the distance
the road less travelled can be hard and cold
but with you beside me and my hand in yours
we can conquer any mountain we desire to climb
feel safe in the knowledge that if we want to
we can spin the sunshine of our former broken lives
into the purest gold.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Even the darkest night is gonna end. The longest night won't last forever. Dense mist will be blown away. Light is stronger than darkness.
Recent winter was not much cold. But at some moments cold seemed too strong. Like here. And finally the spring comes.
Thank you for all the comments and faves, dear friends.
What happens when you get two days off in the middle of the week? Your rewarded with cold, gray, and overcast days. I went to a local lake thinking I would shoot some long exposures with these dead trees sticking out of the water but it turned out that the water was so still that all I needed to do was compose the image.
I found this area with some rocks above the water and played around with it. I ended up lightening up the foreground rocks to add an element to the viewer. Not sure if it works well or not but it was the best capture of the day. As always, thank you so much for viewing my images and commenting when you see fit. Take care.

A moment of some sort of communication passes between the male and female - it may be as simple as the female indicating ‘hey! Move over and stop hogging the log’. Or it may be more complex. Tough to read exchanges between ducks. This glance lasted a second or less, and prone by the water I got lucky.
I had hoped that they might squeeze together somehow to occupy a common focal plane, but their engagement with each other is (in my opinion) enough to overcome some softness in detail on the male’s face.
The small flock of fall migrants that have given birders/photographers some excitement are beginning to move on. An afternoon watching the Wigeons occupy territory - they are not the greatest neighbours to other species, especially the Mallards - was a lot of fun, and their colours never cease to amaze. That is certainly true for me when I see the iridescent green speculum, visible here on the male.
This pair were the exception, as the flock included some eclipse males and some younger birds. But these two stuck together, and may well have been a breeding pair or were soon to be. Their breeding pattern is to establish pairs early and to be monogamous.
Though I came to observe this species on the lakes and rivers around Ottawa, I spent an afternoon walking around Stanley Park in Vancouver and was stunned to find a flock of fifty or sixty munching on some long grass like Mallards or Canada Geese. Context is everything.
One day he is born, a first step, a long way, a challenge, an opportunity and a thought:
"We shall overcome all obstacles!"

a song used during the civil rights movement by African Americans and their supporters to show that they intended to overcome prejudice and segregation. Mahalia Jackson often sang it at their meetings. It was originally a song, and includes the lines:
"Deep in my heart, I do believe
We shall overcome some day."
Mahalia Jackson---We Shall Overcome
We shall overcome, we shall overcome,
We shall overcome someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall overcome someday.
The Lord will see us through, The Lord will see us through,
The Lord will see us through someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall overcome someday.
We're on to victory, We're on to victory,
We're on to victory someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We're on to victory someday.
We'll walk hand in hand, we'll walk hand in hand,
We'll walk hand in hand someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We'll walk hand in hand someday.
We are not afraid, we are not afraid,
We are not afraid today;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We are not afraid today.
The truth shall make us free, the truth shall make us free,
The truth shall make us free someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
The truth shall make us free someday.
We shall live in peace, we shall live in peace,
We shall live in peace someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall live in peace someday.

The blackbird is one of our most famous birds. The typical concert is simply part of the balmy summer evening, as is her warning call when a cat sneaks up. After overcoming its shyness of humans, the blackbird has become an indispensable part of our gardens, parks and cities.

The history of human progression through ages has taught me one simple thing..."if your will is honest and effort is conscientious, then life will teach you to journey through all hurdles and highs"
Here is a couple mountain bikers expressing the same simple message while cycling through the Baralach Pass (4,890 mts, 16,000 ft) on Manali-Leh Highway, Lahaul valley, Himachal Pradesh, India
I was so excited when I saw the way the sun was shining through these stain glass windows at St. Vitus' Cathedral, Prague.....the reflections and colours were just gorgeous.....I tried my best to capture this extraordinary scene...hope you enjoy.......
