Tomorrow the series of images taken the last day of 2022 (Last Sun) and the first day of 2023 (First Light) will continue.
Howdy friends, Here's yet another capture from the epic sunset on the reef. It may seem like I went way "overboard" on this and it is on the dark side, but as I started processing this image it seemed like any change I made, seemed to make it more colorful. When I opened the shadows... More color! Cut the exposure... More color..... Then when I pulled down the saturation... it broke the shapes in the clouds, and I liked all the detail in the clouds right at the sun so, I just decided to go with the flow...... Get it!!!!..... crickets...crickets....crickets :)
Thank you for taking the time to visit and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great week. :)

.........baby Black-necked Grebe getting a little impatient waiting for mum to bring some food in. Nikon D500/Sigma 150-600mm C.
After posting the first "Man overboard" I noticed some serious flaws and edited a bit more. My apologizes to anyone who faved "Man overboard, first version".
Unfortunately Good-Luck-Bear went overboard - but he was lucky indeed: the sea was very calm that day and the life raft nearby ... so he did not have to wait long for rescue :))
But it was quite stressful for the little one !!
Crazy Tuesday - theme of March 3rd, 2020: Miniature / Miniatura
This tiny bear is glued on a one-pfennig (penny) coin (good old D-Mark). I probably received it once as a lucky charm with a birthday present. I think this is the tiniest 'toy' I own: the tiny bear is only 1 cm 'tall' ...
The small ship I made of a little office notepad (9 x 9 cm) and I used a blue sheet of paper for the big blue sea ...
The things we do for Crazy Tuesday :D
Happy Crazy Tuesday everyone :))

Story behind the image: While navigating a turbulent storm in a glass, the captain of this small boat soon realised that he faced the prospect of severe calamity, which would place his vessel in grave peril... But thankfully they survived the storm and when safe and sound in the harbour the captain told everyone that it was the worst storm he had ever experienced. The boat's crew though felt the captain was exaggerating somewhat. They made it clear to anyone who would listen that it was no worse than a storm in a teacup!
Note: Image lit by single Canon 580EX flash - contre-jour - fired by Canon Speedlite wireless remote transmitter ST-E2. Then the boat was lit to provide rim lighting thus making it's details stand out. Processed afterwards in Photoshop CS.

Lock line left on deck cleat of barge, when barge dropped off at fleet, Ohio River, Cairo, Illinois.
Mate and captain of boat would not be pleased to have left a lock line behind when barges dropped off.
Sunset on Galveston Bay from out on the bay. Th lines in the foreground are the sailboat's rigging, which I wasn't quite able to get around without falling overboard.
So I never uploaded this series here, so I will start uploading it over the next few weeks! The water isn't edited, I actually bought an above ground pool and built sets and flooded them. This ended up being the biggest cohesive series I worked on, there are 14 photos in total!! Ill post the next one soon
I reworked this image into square format. Thanks to my contact Eudald for the idea. :-)
I went a bit overboard adding a texture overlay and gradient too. The texture is quite relevent as it was spotted just along from where I took this shot. A paint dripped tarpaulin. :-)
New (to me) layer based photo editing app for mobile devices + snapshot of boat passing through Ballard Locks + experimentation + overdoing it = OverBoard.
Seen at Crosby seafront on a day when the sea was rough, one of Gormley's Iron Men seems to be fighting his way through the waves. Another Place is the name of the artwork installation and more can be read and seen of it via this link:- www.visitliverpool.com/things-to-do/another-place-by-anto... Crosby, Merseyside, UK
