The Milky Way over Sand Beach in Acadia National Park, Maine

handheld 560mm. Canon 100-400mm L ii + kenko 1.4x extender + cropped. next time I will try to add 2x extender as well and on a tripod.

Most wondrous and spectacular cloud formation I have ever seen! The pink tones were vibrant and intense.

The cloud looked like it was from outer space. It hovered above the mountain range from mid-afternoon to late evening and it was visible from miles away.

A cumulonimbus incus also known as an anvil cloud is a mature thunderstorm cloud generating many dangerous elements. This storm cloud is capable of producing bursts of cloud to ground lightning, heavy rain and strong winds.

Perseids meteors, the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, the California Nebula and the Pleiades Nebula all visible in the early morning hours over Toadstool Geological Park in northwestern Nebraska. The Perseids meteor shower occurs once a year in August and is associated with the comet Swift–Tuttle. The meteors are called the Perseids because the radiant point from which they appear lies in the constellation Perseus. During peak nights between thirty and sixty meteors can occur each hour.
