Painted at a jam in Ashford organised by fellow crew member ATCH.

This piece continues my 'no outline' look...I'm pleased with it and like the fact that the style forces me to be a lot more considerate about colour combinations but I was extremely tempted to drop an outline on it towards the end...not sure how long I'll be able to hold out...

Another Otaku piece along side Balrog, Jasik and Elroy.

Had my paint robbed numerous times by Balrog whilst painting this but he says it's ok cos we're in the same crew.

This is not a new 'tag' but simply a name I'm having fun rolling with for letters.

The aim in painting this piece was to try and resist giving anything an outline. Nearly succeeded but ended up having to drop one on the 'K' which was just looking too bleak without one. My first attempt at a new style direction that I'm looking to bring to my character work too.

Painted at a busy Stockwell full of quality painters.

On the floor for used manga primarily aimed at girls and women (shoujo, josei, BL) at Mandarake in Akihabara. Today Akihabara, which started its modern fame selling electronic stuff, is the place to go if you're interested in manga, anime, games and things like that. Mandarake, which is a second hand store for just that kind of stuff, has a big building here.

Note 1: Otaku = geek; nerd; enthusiast (definition from jisho.org). It usually has to do with popular culture in some form.

Note 2: So Akihabara should be the perfect place for Mandarake have a store - but they started out in Nakano and they have stores in other areas too, like Ikebukero and Shibuya, and also for example Sapporo, Nagoya and Osaka.

Note 3: 'Second hand' in this case (as often in Japan) means you can't really tell someone has even owned the items before, must less touched them - or read them. And second hand, at least when it comes to pop culture, is big business (Mandarake made a profit last year, 2014, of almost 700 million yen - 6 million dollars) and stores like this can be found almost everywhere, though perhaps not always this big.
