Château de Carrouges (Orne)
Le château de Carrouges est une demeure, du XIVe siècle, plusieurs fois remaniée (pavillon du cardinal Le Veneur, bastion ouest fortifié au temps des guerres de religion, grands appartements notamment) et réaménagé au XVIIIe siècle, qui se dresse sur la commune française de Carrouges dans le département de l'Orne, en région Normandie.
Le château, géré par le centre des monuments nationaux, fait l’objet d’un classement au titre des monuments historiques par arrêté du 6 décembre 1927

The wooden church of Urnes (the stavkirke) stands in the natural setting of Sogn og Fjordane. It was built in the 12th and 13th centuries and is an outstanding example of traditional Scandinavian wooden architecture. It brings together traces of Celtic art, Viking traditions and Romanesque spatial structures.

Le châtelet d'entrée, cantonné de quatre tourelles circulaires, date du 16e siècle et fut probablement construit par Jean Le Veneur. C'est un pavillon à deux étages. Sa construction associe des briques rouges et noires. Son style Louis XII est caractéristique de cette période de transition entre le Gothique et la Renaissance. Il est gothique par la composition de son décor, par les pinacles ou la présence de crochets sur les gâbles triangulaires ; il est Renaissance par le traitement de ces éléments.

The entrance castle, with four circular turrets, dates from the 16th century and was probably built by Jean Le Veneur. It is a two-storey pavilion. Its construction combines red and black bricks. Its Louis XII style is characteristic of this transition period between the Gothic and the Renaissance. It is gothic by the composition of its decoration, by the pinnacles or the presence of hooks on the triangular gables; it is Renaissance by the treatment of these elements.

The castle of the Dukes, home of the Dukes or Grand Logis is a residence, of the 14th century, built on the site of an old fortified castle of the 12th century, which stands on the territory of the French town of Argentan, in the department of Orne, in the Normandy region. It was the centre of the viscountcy of Argentan.
It has been listed as a Historical Monument in 1889.
