I will forever be colliding
with a billion unnamed
undiscovered stars, each of us
on our own orbital paths.

A long time ago, I heard about this new fangled thang called "digital photography". I was already considering getting back into photography, my kids were both off to college and I needed something to do.
Having given my daughter one of my Nikons for use at school, I decided to try digital, so I bought a Kodak Z740. Something I liked to shoot was what I refer to as Arches, Arcs, Angles and Shadows, partly because of this picture. This shot, and several others from different angles, was one of the first out of that camera. I liked it.
I also like that I could shoot color and convert to B&W so easily. Funny thing is, when I started playing with this pic this morning, I realized I had never posted it in color. After a little playtime, I realized that wasn't going to happen today either. Maybe someday.

Hello!! Just back from living with the clouds. I MISSED you...
The cloud is an offshoot of the famous Strath Taieri Pet...a lenticular, standing wave cloud, I was lucky enough to meet.
How cool to have a pet cloud...

The hill is known as Smooth Cone. "This unusual and symmetrical hill is a volcanic ash vent. The single pine tree (Pinus sp.) was planted on Armistice Day, 11th November 1918 to celebrate the end of WW1. Also known as Conical Hill, but never ‘One Tree Hill.’ "

This Art installation is fascination pure. Here a young woman is discovering the Orbit. Which personal extensive experience will she take back home?

Taken at more than ten times magnification. Not bad for a cell phone.
ArcelorMittal Orbit. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, London. 114.5 metre (376 feet) tall sculpture, viewing platform and the world's longest tunnel slide at 178 metres, mostly behind it from this angle but some can be seen on the right hand side.
