I just changed this title from American Bullfrog to Pig Frog. I'm not sure, but I think I'm correct now!
Can't find an ID on this beauty. On my front porch. Only about an inch wide. Beautiful creation! If anyone has an idea of its ID I'd appreciate it.
I went ahead and replaced this first posted shot with the black and white version. This was a life bird for me this day, but still a beginner ... the lighting was horrendous. Whole world bright green. Right under a Palm frond with the bright Florida sun shining down through it turned everything below it green. So thanks for your patience. I have seen them since then, and have better photos to share down the road!
WooHoo! More beauties out front in God's new garden! This is not a life bird for my yard, but a great bird for my yard here in Orlando. Having fun with Fall Migration and that the birds are enjoying my brand new native/Florida friendly front yard! WooHoo, thank you, Jesus!
By far the best shot I have ever done of this beauty. Not a lifer, but a beautiful bird, on Lake Apopka in the Willows, on my driver's side, and posing! Thank you, Jesus! I am blessed and highly favored to have gotten to be there for such a time as this!
I'm so thankful this is a native to Florida. If you hadn't noticed I had to change the last three frog photo titles to my great sadness.
that I got to see these great Barn Owls, life birds for me, after a really hard week. Thankful beyond words ...
The end of another Creation adventure in early May, 2016. Thank you, Jesus, for this opportunity and getting to see all your wonders and creations.
Thanks to everyone who visited my photostream and viewed and faved and commented on my photos. God bless you!
I just have to jump ahead and post one from yesterday. Mini Creation adventure just around my hood ... I saw Wood Ducks! Eagles! and a Barred Owl What gifts there are for this old lady birder here in her hood! WooHoo, thank you, Jesus.
what a blessing. The Giant Swallowtail, Papilio cresphontes Cramer. Such a blessing that I really needed today!
I was so excited to realize that this was a Spicebush Swallowtail rather than a Black Swallowtail. It's so hard for me to distinguish one from the other.
.... on this cloudy December morning. I thought it beautiful though. Guess I'm still a Swamp Girl after all these years! Just a few hints of blue to encourage me on this last Creation adventure in December 2016.
My absolute favorite. I learned recently from a Flickr friend, Eddie Rizer, that they are often called Gold Rim Swallowtails.
One of God's little yellow birds that came to visit the morning after this tree was planted (Weeping Bottlebrush). WooHoo!
OM goodness, just one more then I've got to go do errands! Jumping ahead YET AGAIN to yesterday. A kind gentlemen showed me where this beauty was at the Cemetery ... am I blessed or what! I had looked and looked before when I learned there was a couple there. There's a nest in the crevice of an old Live Oak tree too.
OK, I cannot resist ... he was trying to get a little "shut eye" in the middle of the day!
I haven't seen one in a couple of years, and they are one of my faves for sure!
Out front in God's native garden ... the Sunshine Mimosa is a Florida native plant. We have had soooooo much wonderful rain. I'll never complain about it again.
We've been reduced from an extreme drought designation, extending from Lake Okeechobee northward to Orange County, and we are now under a severe drought designation. We've got a way to go, but with daily afternoon thunderstorms (which are normal for us in the summer) I'm hopeful!
