the macromonday theme for 12/24 is holiday bokeh, so i photographed one of my favorite ornaments (with a slight change), using the fiber optic "lights" as bokeh. is it enough??
Laugh at yourself, but don't ever aim your doubt at yourself. Be bold. When you embark for strange places, don't leave any of yourself safely on shore. Have the nerve to go into unexplored territory. Alan Alda

A macro view of metal hair spirals. I have no idea what these do; I just thought they looked cool. The frame represents a span of ¾ -of-an-inch across.
Strobist info:
The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights, a steady blue LED flashlight, and a warm overhead room light. The SB900s were positioned CL/CR and fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄128 power through 24" softboxes and triggered by PocketWizard Plus Xs. The LED was placed at 2-o'clock.

With all that is going on in the US, I'm at a loss for photo inspiration, but went for a walk with my lensbaby and found a field with some flowers and a tiny butterfly and for one brief moment, it seemed all was right with the world... : )

A system that is ever growing and developing new optics!
There's just something about the simplicity of a low key, full face portrait. This one wasn't even planned. My lens tends to zoom in on its own when it's pointed downward. The weight of the lens elements overcomes the friction and I often look down to find the lens zoomed way out. As I lifted the camera and looked through the viewfinder, I noticed the tight zoom, but instinctively snapped the shutter anyway.
Photographed in the early hours of the morning, this beautiful wild Otter paused momentarily here to check me out.
A stunning animal & an absolute privilege to watch & photograph.
The light was challenging here, so this one's a little grainy, but I hope the subject makes up for it.
Here's my final (for now) solution for creating what I perceive to be a 'painting on canvas' look in camera.
The image is slightly processed, but all of the texture in the background was added via a double-exposure in-camera. It's a bit overdone here of course to demonstrate the effect, but I'm looking forward to experimenting a little bit more with that in other situations.
Shot with an Okaya Optic "Highkor 40 mm F 1.8" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
Today, I tagged along on an event that was originally just for business owners and their employees here in North Frontenac that they opened up yesterday to the residents as well.
Only two of us on the tour of local businesses were residents the rest business owners. It was a very worthwhile little tour and I got to meet some really nice business owners here in North Frontenac that I would likely not have met otherwise. I had my lensbaby on the camera for the day.
I took while we were at The Loon's Call on Marble Lake with the Lensbaby Sweet 35 optic in the Canon 1DS Mark III. I have photographed the lake in the past but, I had not ventured past the public beach before.
