The Shady Ladies performed a five-song set at Sweetwater in Mill Valley, California. This local singing group is led by our friend BJ Martin, directed by their teacher Reed Fromer, and includes includes my lovely wife Phyllis.

Here are the tunes they sang that night - watch the videos:

We are all inspired by their lovely voices and harmonies -- and their precious gift of music. Nicely done, Shady Ladies! Keep singing your heart out.

And we were really impressed by all the other performances on this Open Mic Night at the Sweetwater, from great bluesmen to the hot young Matt Jaffe & The Distractions. Do yourself a favor and drop by one of these Open Mic Open nights, which are masterfully hosted by old-timer Austin DeLone, of Commander Cody fame (we did one of their first award-winning music videos, “Two Triple Cheese, Side Order of Fries.”)

Thank you, Sweetwater, for hosting these performances. Music is a powerful way to create connections between us and you’ve done so much for our local community over the last few decades!

Support for Readings/Workshops in New York City is provided, in part, by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, with additional support from the Louis & Anne Abrons Foundation, the Axe-Houghton Foundation, The Cowles Charitable Trust, the Abbey K.
