A little bit of extra history - When Mosley and his fascists marched down Cable Street in 1936, which runs behind Wilton's, they clashed with locals who objected to the march. Mosley was anti-semetic and this part of the East End was predominately Jewish. The locals sheltered in Wilton's during the battle.
