Kara asked us to make a pastsecret card to put inside our life story box. it didn't HAVE to be a secret, but that's the general idea. Sometimes it's good to just get your feelings out there.

A peek at the art journal/example pages I made for the lovely miss Kara Haupt's online class, 'Summer of Love'.

Take two lovely weeks to make an summer-filled art journal from an old book, make friendship bracelets, and become a more inspired photographer - it's beautiful, all around! Examples by myself, Danielle Thompson, and of course - Kara herself! :)

2nd attempt: Same composition in a different color way

I searched for Cereus Fun and my site was #1 in Google! Well, hey, #1 is number ONE! Way to go.....

a page from way back in February or March, I think. I made this one as a guest artist for Shimelle's online class 'Something from almost nothing.' I choose to make mine all about ribbon!

wee3: Each time you use the viewfinder try to change something when you begin a new sketch. You can stay in a gray scale value if you would like. Or try adding another color to your sketch designs in ight to dark values. To bring in some texture to the sketch you can sand or crinkle some pages.

My purple-haired bride is done (sorry for the photobooth pictures, I'll take some better ones later..) I love the beads on her dress...pretty :)

Lesson 2 In my online painting class ( www.imaginarytrips.com/ImaginaryTrips/Welcome.html ) was to paint a window box. I chose a photo that my son took a few years back at Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island. He sent me the original unedited file to paint from, but you can see an edit he crafted of the photo here; www.flickr.com/photos/jaredkruger/458214214/in/photostream. Of course the original version was in color throughout. ;)

I haven't yet figured out how I'll be working in my text. I thought I'd scan it now, in case I break something!

Just in case:

Today was rather mundane & routine. Rather than the apathy I normally feel, I felt "full."

Things are finally starting to change.

I named it "Mini-Beats" because it's a smaller journal that coincides with my larger journal.

It's my regular journal, but I will be putting some of Elsie & Rachel's "Tell Your Story" prompts in it as well. :)

Lesson 2: Today's lesson is all about understanding what leaving some paint on the plate does to a print!
