This was a surprise two-for-the-price-of-one shot which was thrilling but not expected. I was focused with the hawk on the right when the other flew into frame. The pair spent time narrowing down the area that the first hawk had zeroed in on and proceeded to search for the prey. Ultimately they came up empty handed but watching their unified effort was pretty darn interesting! I did comb the picture looking for any sign of what had garnered their interest, but came up without a clue.

Only one shot of this shy species
These guys are so beautiful, it's almost a religious experience when I see one. (Shot through a dirty windshield).
I didn't make only one shot at my visit at the bee-eaters colony, off course. How could I ? These birds are much to fascinating for that. Even if this was the first time, that I did dedicate myself to this genre so intense, more good shots came out than I expected. So there are some more to come. This here is one of my favourite. It shows the moment before the photograph I posted three days ago.
Bei meinem Besuch bei der Bienenfresser Kolonie habe ich natürlich nicht nur ein Foto gemacht. Wie könnte ich ? Dafür sind diese Vögel viel zu faszinierend . Obwohl das für mich das erste Mal war, dass ich mich diesem Genre so intensiv gewidmet habe, sind mehr gute Aufnahmen dabei entstanden, als ich erwartet hatte. Es kommt da also noch ein bisschen was. Diese hier ist eine meiner liebsten. Sie zeigt den Moment, vor der Aufnahme, die ich vor drei Tagen gezeigt habe.
