Small and cute figurines, about 5 cm (2 inches) tall. Shop display in Tianzifang.
Tianzifang (Chin: 田子坊): this is an area of small narrow alleys or "nong" (弄) which has been redeveloped and now features arts shops, restaurants and bars and also enough souvenir shops to make it a one-stop shopping location on the hunt for the "typical" Chinese souvenir. Get hungry while souvenir hunting? 10 different countries feature their respective national cuisine...

Wanna Buy Me A Coffee?
At the edge of Town In Floyd Virginia, a small one stop light town in SW VA. This store is almost a one stop shop for Locals and is constantly busy with the in and out of customers. But like most of the stores in Floyd town, around the 9:30-10 pm it all shuts down and the town is all but empty.

Chobe River is a paradise for elephants. They have tall grasses for food and cool water for drink and for bathing. On safari, one is struck by how Botswana naturally offers wildlife such a perfect place to live. Their existence is also very important to the people of the country and the government strives to protect all of the animals.

Well it certainly took a little longer than the predicted 5hr journey time to get there. Nine hours with only one stop for coffee and recharge the battery for my phone.
Two bad accidents on the A19 and the M90 created tailbacks for over ten miles. On both occasions we stood still for over an hour.
So you can appreciate the delight the next morning, when we were treated to this beautiful sunrise behind the castle.
Named after it's Gaelic name, Dun Fhoithear, literally meaning "fort on the shelving slope"
As far as castles go, it's difficult to imagine a more remote and dramatic location than Dunnatar.
Perhaps with the most impenetrable position of all Scottish castles, this one sits on top of it's own cliff peninsular on the road to Aberdeen, defended on all sides by the forces of nature.
Dunnatar Castle also comes with a good dose of dastardly history with an intrepid mix of torching, smuggling and pillaging.
Add to this some seriously stunning scenery and vistas to rival the best.
There are 50metre high cliffs on three sides of the site. While those are pounded by the North Sea, the fourth is joined to the land. This section was once a peninsular, but it's access was destroyed in favour of a cliff pathway. As a result you can only reach Dunnatar via a narrow, twisting route that ends in a tunnel, making it one of the most difficult Scottish castles to get into.
Back to New York City for a bit more processing from the Vessel, Hudson Yard, New York City before COVID taken 8 June 2019. Just one stop along the way with a top to bottom walk around Manhattan with Mathias, aka., m_laRs_k. Can't wait to do it again.
The extraordinary centerpiece of Hudson Yards is its spiral staircase, a soaring new landmark meant to be climbed. This interactive design piece was imagined by Thomas Heatherwick and Heatherwick Studio as a focal point where people can enjoy new perspectives of the city and one another from different heights, angles and vantage points.
Comprised of 154 intricately interconnecting flights of stairs -- almost 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings -- with nearly one mile of vertical climb above the Public Square and Gardens, this landmark offers remarkable views.
Just one stop on the See! Chicago tour this past weekend.
@therookerybuilding is always worth popping into and taking one of the @flwtrust tours is a great way to hear about the history of the building.

We took the train one stop from Colwall (Herefordshire) to Great Malvern Station, (Worcestershire) recently and were greeted with a real show of Victoriana, here's a detailed image of one of the 'Floral Capitals' which really caught my eye, situated at the junction of the canopy and supporting columns, every one is unique in design. On close inspection it's possible to see peeling paint together with cobwebs.
They were the work of the sculptor William Forsyth. The station is Grade II listed and was completed in 1862 after being initially opened in 1860.

I have seen this species in the wild before, but I have never had one stop and look at me at less than 50 feet (ca. 15 meters). He demanded a photo. :-)
To see the light and shadows flying across the landscape always inspires me to always have my camera with me even when just walking the dog, there is always something that will catch your eye to make an image. Sometimes it`s being in the right place at the right time sometimes it`s just seeing what you can make out of a photo opportunity anything will do to make an image. So yesterday morning up on top of Lancing looking down into the Adur valley the clouds were piling up and the light was running across the landscape, the shot had to be taken.
I shot this one stop under exposed to retain all that amazing detail in the highlights you can always pull back those shadows later .

Brownsville, Brooklyn
Eagle Nest One Stop (US64 Gas). Permanently closed and abandoned. They had it all.....gas, car wash, pay phone, ice, ice cream, DVDs and goodies for the munchies.
Many anthropological details to ponder: The proprietor lives 'above the shop' complete with a convenience store, a lounge bar, and fuel. Look closely, and you'll see a notice on the door that they only accept cash. A sign advertising a long-past tractor show, and the HB ice cream logos taped to the windows. The pumps look like they date from the 70s or 80s, and have been hit by cars, trucks, and tractors so many times they're barely standing. Packing tape holds the pump exteriors together -- to a point. Surprisingly, the diesel pump still appears to work, with the lights on and current pricing. I've never seen a customer's car here, yet the place seems well maintained outside of the wonky fuel pumps and outdoor light.
Here's a collage of the tiny Zebra butterfly showing some of the mauve/blue colour, also a pic of the flower the butterflies favour, Plumbago zeylanica
They flit about very fast and patience is required to wait until one stops for a bit and opens it's wings. The colours and pattern don't show very well until the pic is enlarged.
Little Two-spotted Ladybird (Diomus notescens)
I see lots of these in the garden but they are always running. This one stopped for a millisecond so I got the shot.
They are 2.5 mm in length (maximum) and whilst they look black they are actually a very dark green with the orange spot on either side.
Mono Lake at dawn. This is the first HDR blend that I'm happy with. It's four exposures, one stop apart each, merged in Photoshop using 32-bit HDR. From there, I brought the TIF file into Adobe Camera Raw for editing and then did final touch ups back in Photoshop.
Mono Lake is a key seagull breeding area in CA. Water levels are down, threatening the ecosystem for the brine shrimp and flies the gulls feed on. Also, low water levels increase the risk that predators can reach the gull eggs and chicks on Nebit Island. Water diversion to Los Angeles has been reduced and will be halted if the lake falls further to protect the lake.

Our one stop in Taiwan on Queen Elizabeth ended up being in Keelung Harbour. From here it was about an hour by train to Taipei. We were supposed to have a second stop but this was cancelled because of an earthquake that had taken place just a week before we got there
a good bunch of European starlings making a break on the huge Celtis australis

It makes one stop and ponder, when a bear starts swimming your way.
This is one of the bears that we were able to photograph last season at our Alaska workshop, We still have some room left in next August's adventure. We'll be visiting Denali as well as the bears.

Avalon Waterway Impression is docked in Cologne until late at night. We got off and walked around the city centre.
One stop was to visit the huge central train station and get our bearings from a previous trip.
The station is situated next to Cologne Cathedral.
The original Central Station (German: Centralbahnhof) was built beginning in 1857.
The station has seen multiple changes and expansion ever since.
The Cologne Central Railway Station is one of 21 German stations that belong to category 1. Stations of category 1 are big and busy railway stations. They are housed in prestigious buildings and are usually in the center of the city. You can usually find plenty of shopping options.
About 4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser:
The original cologne water. This light refreshing cologne has been popular for over two hundred years. Invented in Cologne, Germany (surprise!) in a house with the number "4711". It was originally developed for medicinal purposes. The fascinating story behind this cologne can be found at www.4711.com.
The ingredients are still top secret today, with only the main ingredients known.
Unfortunately this boat has now gone from the beach, would have liked to have captured some more pictures of it, different seasons sunrises, sunsets,
Just got back from Oahu and now playing catchup on photos. Here is a shot close to sunset of a mom Pronghorn and her young. Where else can you go to get cleaned and fueled up in one stop?!
Lowry Bridge, Salford Quays
The last but one stop off for Emma, Mark and myself when we visited the Quays one impromptu Saturday evening on the pretence of a promising sunset and that Mark was in the area on taxi driver duties for his daughter who was down the road at the Apollo.
After shooting from all of the known vantage points towards all of the familiar buildings we headed back to the car park via the Millennium Bridge or it's more popular name - the Lowry Bridge. Tripods folded, gear packed away, but it only takes one photographer to just go for that extra shot and we all follow suit for fear of missing out on something we didn't see. I blame Mark for this one.
Interesting point... Emma knows the light sequence for the bridge (insert your own thoughts here), I guess she's been there a few more times than I have! Anyway, yet another one from the Quays I hear you all sigh, but I simply like the boldness of the colours on the bridge and the complementary neon behind the glass walls. You'll have to go back to 2011 in my stream to find the last image I posted from this bridge so at least I've spaced them out!
One final note, if you think London's Millennium Bridge bounces you should stand on this one... it only takes two or three people crossing to make it bounce so I'm quite happy with the sharpness at 25 secs.
