I had known about this waterfall for several years and always was drawn to its beauty from photos I had seen from years earlier. Being situated and recessed back up into a mountain setting, for years, people visiting this waterfall had dumped their fast-food trash, plastic bottles, beer cans and litter along the rural road in front of houses on the way to the waterfall. The straw that broke the camel's back came after some insolent juveniles spray painted boulders on the way up to the waterfall. The local residents who lived along the road leading to the trail, formed a cooperative and bought up the land along the road, including the land the waterfall was on and posted no trespassing signs all along the road. I will refrain from mentioning the name of the waterfall out of respect for the landowners. I had walked down the road on three previous occasions and spoke with the local residents. On this last visit, I had the pleasure of speaking with a neighbor who was a relative of the principle owner, who shared with me all of the travail the neighbors had gone through over the years and I was blessed and considered it to have been an honor to be able to make this photograph. When I arrived at the base of the waterfall, I took shot after shot after shot. I couldn't stop making photos I loved the setting so much. I am thankful for the local residents who took action in faith as such great stewards to preserve the natural beauty of this waterfall. I will always refer to this one as my Secret Love.
