Op 5 mei werd er wederom naar Duitsland gereden om een dagje aan de Rijn te bivakeren. Net als de vorige keer werd het ook deze keer "stressvol" in de avond. Er was namelijk nog een HectorRail uit Basel onderweg met de SRI 151 124 aan kop. De vraag was of deze nog op tijd aan de Rijn zou zijn om met daglicht te fotografeen. Uiteindelijk hadden we geluk en passeerde hij nog voor zonsondergang. De laatste 3 minuten verliepen trouwens nog extra stressvol. Zoals te zien is staat het sein de andere kant op veilig voor de stopper. Een kruising werd het gelukkig op één seconde niet. Soms moet je een beetje mazzel hebben :). Zo kon de 151 124 gehuurd bij SRI hier in dienst van HectorRail met een fraai beladen Mortarashuttle worden gefotografeerd.

Gusts of more than 100mph have been recorded after Storm Bella brought heavy rain and high winds to large parts of the UK.

Here in the village we got off lightly. Little damage and the flooding during the night has all receded this morning.

Auf meiner letzten Tour hier in Oerlinghausen wimmelte es nur so von Tagpfauenaugen.

Alle paar Meter saßen sie auf dem Sand, in der Wiese, oder saugten Blütennektar auf Wasserdost oder Goldrute.

Sie waren wohl gerade frisch geschlüpft.

Das Tagpfauenauge profitiert von den höheren Temperaturen und bildet jetzt zwei Generationen pro Jahr statt wie früher üblich nur eine.

Lekker op stap met een vriend in Oisterwijk, de doelen die ik gesteld had voor mijzelf allemaal niet gehaald, mistbanken, zonsopkomst, toch te laat vertrokken ondanks om 4 uur opstaan.

Was er voor de 1ste keer en het is een groot gebied, volgende keer beter......
