not really, just two phones.
when I was young we had one phone on a party line. which meant, to you young ones, that several people were able to use the same line. my parents didn't want to pay for a private line.
a lotta people, but very short phone numbers.
and heavy phones.

I had to wait until Graham was ready this morning, before I could take my Macro Mondays photo. I needed him to take the old landline phone apart. He managed it before having his second mug of coffee too, bless him.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.:O)

No annoying junk texts or unwanted commercials. We're going to keep it simple. By the way, this a not a recreation, but a genuine Bell Systems phone from the mid 1950s. Note the 203 Connecticut area code in the center of the dialer. Try calling the number (203) 488-0447 and see if it's been reassigned to somebody.
I was going for a moody piece here. I shot it and re-shot it about a dozen times. Dennis had been showing me a bunch of shots he had taken using only the natural light, and I thought I had better get in the game. Generally the only natural light I use is the sun - outside. I used the top of my head as a reflector to redirect the light toward my hand and the phone.
This was a little room under the projection room in an abandoned theater in Buffalo.
I only used the limited amount of light that was already entering the room in front of me.
Comments/critiques and feedback are welcome. Thanks.

If you like abandoned images then I am almost certain you have seen this scene at this same location over and over and over by dozens and dozens of others. Well...surprise because here it is again.
Just imagine you wakeup on your back on a damp, crusty and moldy carpet somewhere and not knowing how you even got there. You roll your head to the left and this is what you see.
Feels like a bad dream or a really bad trip that probably isn't over. But you can feel the dampness from the carpet on the back of your head and looking up you see a ceiling that doesn't look like it should even be there and will probably come down soon. Your fingers can even feel the cold and dirty carpet pile. Maybe its just the smell of the mildew and mold messing with you or, maybe you just got home.
I've been in the corporate programming biz since graduating from college with a degree in computer science in 1982. During my ten year tenure at Lever Brothers, I wrote at least 600 interactive and background CICS programs, most of which communicated with VSAM indexed files as well as TS and TD Queues and a 3270 emulator screen. I always found it somewhat strange that such a large corporation didn't use IBM's relational database DB2. Oh well... back to the Newsweek magazine.
