Scansione di un negativo ritrovato. Le uniche cose certe sono: La città è Ancona. Le pellicole del 1978 contenevano molto più argento, trovo fossero molto più belle.

This is probably as close to real lomography as I will ever get.
A friend of mine has given me a huge bag of negatives and photographs from many years ago, it's going to take me a long while to scan them all, but I think that it is going to be worth it as there are treasures to be found like these two of Brighton in 1924, they were taken on 116 film for 2½×4¼ inch negatives

Scansione di un negativo ritrovato. Credo questa immagine abbia un enorme valore storico. Lo scafo che vedete (qui era già abbandonato e incagliato) è succesivamente affondato e tutt'oggi rimane qualche pezzo sul fondo. In particolare l'albero, che soprattutto con bassa marea affiora in superficie, per la gioia dei molti diportisti della domenica... Non avevo mai visto foto del relitto in superficie, forse è davvero un'immagine molto importante per la storia locale.

Scan of a found negative. I believe this image has enormous historical value. The hull you see (here it was already abandoned and stranded) subsequently sank and some pieces still remain on the bottom today. In particular the mast, which comes to the surface especially at low tide, to the delight of many inexperienced boaters... I had never seen photos of the wreck on the surface, perhaps it really is a very important image for local history.
Hanny was the sister of my grandfather who took the picture, here she is 13 years old, with a new bike
Back in time. I used an old Ilford hp4+ negative from 1987 McKinley climb I did.
New print on old Agfa bw119 paper grade 5 ( paper is older then the photo)

I've found a cigar box in the basement with some of my daddies negatives from the 1950's.
It's a great corona confinement project to scan and restore some of these memories.

A quiet autumn view from Storevatnet in Sula, where the still water holds the forest in a soft reflection and the last warm colours of the season glow against the darker pines. I was planning a full day of shooting today, but heavy rain put a stop to that, so instead I turned to old negatives that had been waiting in a drawer. The square crop helped calm the composition, moving away from the centered horizon of the original frame and letting the reflection and autumn colour carry the image.
Shot with a Chamonix 45F-2 using a 300mm lens.
Captured on Kodak Ektar 100. Scanned from an older lab-developed negative — part of the batch that finally convinced me to start developing at home, after dealing with heavy dust and white spotting.
Taken in 1978 with a 35mm point-and-shoot film camera out the front window of a bus. I was on tour with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle corps.
My memory of that summer is as hazy as the photo.
An old negative of women on Church Hill in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, a sign for Pleasant Terrace is behind them on the clapboard house. It is one of a small set of old 120/620 size negatives taken in c1952, unfortunately there are no photographer details. They obviously did not want to wait for the boy behind them to finish going to toilet, although he is showing how useful shorts rather than trousers are!

One of a small set of old 120/620 size negatives, this one taken on the Embankment with a London Transport tram in the background (running off conduit) advertising "Last Tram Week - on July 5 we say goodbye to London", so probably taken in the first week of Jul 1952. The two woman in the centre are meant to be the focus of the shot as they appear in others, unfortunately there are no photographer details.

The parts of the London tramways system that had not already been withdrawn or transferred to trolleybus/bus operation closed on 05 Jul 1952.

I was helping to renovate a school darkroom, when in the bottom of a box I found several quarter plate, glass plate negatives, the two here are the most interesting.
They are clearly Southend, probably during a bank holiday weekend. Taken from a similar position and judging by the fashions I would guess 1930’s and 1950’s, maybe someone can give some more insight.
I found this negative in an Agfa Isolette Camera (early 50's), does anyone know which station this is? Or what year maybe?
I bought a camera on an auction site and there was a film left in it.

One of a small set of old 120/620 size negatives, this one was taken on Westminster Bridge (Houses of Parliament to the left), of *London Transport E/3 class tram No. 176 running on conduit and showing a 'Woolwich Perrott St via Kennington' destination indicator. Another of the negs shows an LT tram advertising "Last Tram Week - on July 5 we say goodbye to London", so this one was probably taken in the first week of Jul 1952 as well.

"Tram is showing 'Woolwich Perrott St via Kennington' so would be on service 40 from New Cross depot.
Either not enough large size service number stencils to go round (the oldest/most tired trams on the network was scrapped after each stage of the conversion, and the newest / best trams got shared around, and some standards slipped a bit with service number stencils and so on) or the souvenir hunters had been out.." 🚃
No. 176 was an ex Leyton Corporation Tramways (LCT) car built by English Electric (assembled by London County Council Tramways (LCC) at its Charlton works) seating 28/46, and running on EMB maximum traction (LCC 4A) trucks. It went into passenger service in 1931 and from new had Alpax metal framed driver screens/vestibules. The LCT trams were operated by London County Council Tramways (LCC) in LCC livery but with the Leyton crest on the side panels, before 1926 LCT had been known as 'Leyton Urban District Council Tramways'.
Its ownership transferred to the London Passenger Transport Board (LPTB) in 1933, in Jul 1952 it was officially withdrawn from service and disposed of (broken up or sold) at Penhall Road Works.
The parts of the London tramways system that had not already been withdrawn or transferred to trolleybus/bus operation closed in Jul 1952.

The boy is my father in the 1930th.
After his death I received a few boxes with a lot of medium format negatives.
Of course I might scan them, but I don´t want to.
It´s like finishing another person´s work. I think the person who took the photo composed it very consciously and in the darkroom it felt a bit strange to look at the picture with the eyes of this person who already died a long time ago. To see like he saw, to be aware of the scene like he (or she?) was.
I printed this old medium format negativ on Ilford MGWT in Moersch Meritol, it is Selenium toned, then bleached and toned in Moersch MT3
