The light might be challenging but Colas Tug 60026 still makes a fine sight passing through an autumnal Horbury Cutting as it takes charge of the 08.55 Preston Docks - Lindsey (6E32) discharged bitumen tanks for the very first time.
My first visit to this classic spot - and helpfully one which only entailed falling out of the car to bag.

I spent an amazing few hours at Scottish Lavender Oils. They are so dedicated to nature and not to profit!
A different point of view!!
The marigold - a pretty, all-purpose plant with a wide range of medicinal effects. All of them made possible by the essential oils and resins trapped in the bright yellow flowers.
The friendly flower's willingness to bloom is undeniable. Because its blossom shone in vibrant yellow and gold every month from June to October, the Romans called it calendula, referring to the first day of the month.
The main medicinal applications of marigold are skin conditions of all kinds, including contusions, bruises and varicose veins. Minor skin injuries and inflammation can also be successfully treated. Marigold ointment promotes wound healing for eczema and sunburns. The fresh flowers must be preserved in olive oil and then stored in a cool and dark place. After three weeks, the filtered oil can be mixed with wax to make the ointment. Decanted into a jar, the ointment can set and will now last several months.

Dora Maar was Pablo Piccaso's muse when painting this. Painted in 1939. Oils vs. acrylics can add more depth within the painting.

I doubt you could get certified warranty service at Mr. Miller's establishment. This was found on a back street in the ghost town of Monida, Montana in 2005, and scanned from a slide.

A few days off to capture one of the granddaughters with my lens...Koren who I'm sure all of my contacts have seen in the past ...she is always such fun and has a totally different look from her brown eyed sister Arianna who I recently captured in the Valentine shoot this year,,,I have to say I LOVE this portrait lens..the first time Ive used it....wishing one and all the joys of the weekend and family...
I set myself a challenge to take photos of old buildings before they disappear for good this area is due for redevelopment so won't be there for much longer. UPDATE: This building is no more.
Several weeks ago, I post an old picture of the Lab. There is thrice that amount there now. A couple days ago, a flickr friend told me a story about her homemade cologne and a perfect stranger. There is a good selection of essential oils and fragrance oils. On the left is a selection of powders and clays. Things like Kelp, Red Clover pedel powder, dandilion powder, bladderwack powder and others. I made soaps, lotions, butters, massage oils, Masks, lip blams and even a bug repellent. Yes that's my Wizard hat on the right.
Water-Mixable oil on paper, 9x12”; the birds and the plant are in my garden, but the background is made up.

Hardly original but, if you're doing the Calder Valley, at some point you have to take this shot. Guttingly not the full sun promised by Carol K before I Ieft home but having committed to the 130 mile round journey there was no point in being sniffy.
Colas Tug 60076 crosses Horsfall Viaduct on the outskirts of Todmorden with the 08.40 Preston Docks Lanfina - Lindsey Oil Refinery tanks (6E32) on 27th February 2015.
The tight confines of the valley are amply illustrated here with Rochdale Canal, River Calder, A646 main road, and railway all vying for space along the narrow valley floor.
