Incubus - Oil and Water (from Look Alive):
A CN oil train rumbles through Juniper Beach Provincial Park. The park is located on the north side of the Thompson River west of the town of Savona and protects the dry sagebrush and desert ecology of the area.
For this image, I used the simulated analog film "Kodak Portra 400" with software DxO FilmPack 6.

The sun was moving toward the horizon, so I decided to use its light to capture images of a liquid world. I was trying to find the balance of backlight and lighting the strawberry directly. The surface of the water and oil reflect the direct light which causes crazy highlights. My setup is in a closet and I am working on the floor which helps dictate how long I can work. When my back and legs are done, I pack it up.
I forgot to mention that the ice pancakes in the foreground are quite solid for walking on. Unfortunately they weren't as solid as I thought and quite a bit slipperyer (hmm..that's not looking like a word).
