Hello Everyone, it is the day before Christmas Eve and the big day is almost here! I think most of us have been that child at some point in our childhood, not wanting to go to sleep on Christmas Eve, waiting for Santa to arrive with all His gifts and goodies for my siblings and myself. It was absolutely a happy time remembering yawning and trying to stay awake while my parents watch TV. After awhile barely remembering being picked up by my Father and carried upstairs, tucked away in bed.
The other evening in SL I was over at my best friends home with their little daughter, my niece Tikka, the one who steals quarters from my purse all the time. She and my bubsie were having a back and forth about her going to bed else Santa will not stop and bring her presents. The interaction brought back that memory, so listening more to their hilarious argument about reindeer eating cookies and candy canes. I had to quickly go to my inventory and find a fitting pose and take a photo of the adorable scene they were playing out, Daddy taking His little girl to bed. :)
I hope you enjoy and thank you for allowing me to share my photo with you and again, have a wonderful and safe Christmas and a blessing to all of you, :)
xoxo,
Christmas
Well, today I had a spring cleaning virus. Yep, I cleaned my house like an alien had taken over my body. I always keep things CLEAN, but not always free of clutter. Today I cleaned out other closets, flipped mattresses, cleaned carpets, scrubbed floors on my hands and knees making sure all hidden dirt was washed up, and any other ridiculous act of cleanliness you can think of. But most of all I sorted through the clutter and found homes for things that have never had a home.
I am also a *single mom* this week. Mike is in Virginia looking at houses for the move in June. Since we're buying again to add to our rental property collection it seemed best to send him ahead so we can get the painfully slow mortgage process started before we even get there. I'm not a fan of living in hotels while waiting on the bank. Once this part of the process is over I can relax and enjoy the last 2 months we're here. I really do like this area and hope we retire here when Mike retires. I'm pretty sure this is where I'd like to call home.
Anyway, I'll be MIA most of this week since I'll be driving to Kentucky to spend the week and weekend with my family, and then Easter Sunday in Nashville with Mike's family. I'm SO looking forward to the week in Kentucky and spending some much needed time with my sisters. The one thing I've hated about the military lifestyle is being away from both of them. Jenny and I have a connection that is insanely close, even across the miles, but it's not the same to get a phone call or to make one when you feel something going on. Sissy, I miss you! See you on Wednesday!!
Wish me luck that I make the drive safe and sound. It will be me, the 2 girls, a dog, and a butterfly house with 4 chrysalises that haven't yet turned to butterflies. Not to mention that Alex hasn't been on a road trip since potty training a month ago. I hope we make it in one piece and with no peepee accidents in the car. Any thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated, LOL! (and yes, I'm packing Alex's training potty in the car *just in case* we have to stop on the side of the road...... If I pack it we won't need it, if I DON'T we absolutely will. I'm not tempting fate. Not this time.)
I'm sorry, but I'm tired, grumpy, in a real bad mood and to be perfectly honest I can't really be bothered.
It doesn't make me a bad person!
See you all tomorrow ;-)
An overshadowing sadness, a feeling of desolete emptiness. That is how I feel when I come home from work at 5am. The world is sleeping. I'm alone. It is often a very rewarding feeling. Not today. I'm tired and sick of all the terrible things going on everywhere. I work in the emergency services and this was not a good night.
But there is always hope, a glimmer of laughter and joy, and in the end, these always win. Now I'm off to bed, to dream pastel coloured dreams and wake up renewed in spirit.

I captured this image of a white rhinoceros at Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia.
He'd had enough for the day. Just had to capture this as he was strolling away showing his rough butt.

[Wikipedia]
The white rhinoceros or square-lipped rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) is the largest extant species of rhinoceros. It has a wide mouth used for grazing and is the most social of all rhino species. The white rhinoceros consists of two subspecies: the southern white rhinoceros, with an estimated 19,682–21,077 wild-living animals in the year 2015, and the much rarer northern white rhinoceros. The northern subspecies has very few remaining individuals, with only two confirmed left in 2018 (two females; Fatu, 18 and Najin, 29), both in captivity.

It rained. I moped.
My kid leaves town, and I have the terrible urge to make hundreds (yes, hundreds) of perfect little pancakes. Hundreds. And I also have a rather strong urge to make biscuits.
My child doesn't eat pancakes (he prefers waffles), and I've never made biscuits in my life.
Explain please.
Don't get me started on the dog not being around either..... Let's all pray for some sunshine and a good trip.
This pic is dedicated to my good friend Ali. The other night he pointed out to me that my arms were getting too cut. It's on the border of grossing him out (read: intimidating him) and he asked me a favor.
"Jess! Next time you get the urge to do a push up, eat a dough nut instead!"
Hmmm. Ok. ;)
Day 85 Year 2 After a long day spent with friends I haven't seen in years I'm just tired and ready for some sleep.
And with 90% humidity in the air, yeah, this is how it goes.
Had a temporary crown put on one of my back teeth today. If your looking into having this done in the near future.....JUST SHOVE AN ICE PICK INTO YOUR BRAIN. Thats what I would compare the pain to.
Sorry about the pp, grainy and dark, but thats about how I feel. :O(
I have pretty much walked through my door from the airport like right now. Edited this one pic and am now off to bed. Will start catching up with streams tomorrow...or ummm...later today. Missed you all. Later peeps!

Off to bed now, very tired because of the "busy" weekend... Tomorrow it's Monday and I'm back to reality.
Good night my friends and have a nice week!
-Tomorrow I'll visit each and every one of you :D
All done - Christmas Eve came and went, just finished wiping the kitchen down, and have been going through the images taken this evening...and I've GOT to get a lens that will allow more light through! For low-light shooting, my 18-200 f3.5-5.6 just isn't cutting it.
*sighs*
So I'll leave you with this dark, grainy shot to remind myself to stop buying jewelry for the wife and start buying lenses for ME! :-D

Fact: When I taught 5th grade and began our unit on the American Revolution. two thirds of my class had no idea what the 4th of July was celebrating. Most responses included a "break from work, summer picnics, time to be with your family." This happened year after year. Every year my two boys hear this story( and roll their eyes at my storytelling). Hopefully, they will understand the importance of their independence someday!
