Oceanside is a classic California beach community on San Diego’s North Shore, with warm sandy beaches, historic wooden pier and Cape Cod-style harbor village complete with unlimited water sports and recreation.
A regular photo converted into a piano shot. Going over my old iPhone photos reminiscing about a trip to California. If I were to move to Cali, Oceanside would be my first option, San Diego would be a second option. Been to Bakersfield, been to L.A., enjoyed every minute of my time there.
I still wanna move somewhere west, though.
And with a turn of the head we have this view in color. I am surprised how still it remained as I leaned inward to take this photo.
Mixed Media, processed with Midjourney, Photoshop, and Topaz. Best detail when viewed LARGE.
I sincerely thank you for taking your valuable time to view, award, or comment on my work. ♥

During the recent trip to California, we visited many beaches and public/recreational piers. There must be over hundred of them in California and they range from concrete structures to wood, most often called wharfs when they have the wooden surface you can drive on. I loved to take photos of them, day or night, and you will see many more positings to come. Hope you like them too.
♥ Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments!♥

Drone photo taken in January between a couple of rainstorms. It's now mid March and we're awaiting yet another rainstorm.
Retirement has been really good for my photography hobby. I've always taken lots of photos on my "Photo Expeditions" and always have a lot of unprocessed images in my photo folders for those times when I'm not "out and about" but still want to process and post new images to social media.
I've now been retired for nearly a quarter of a year, and haven't processed nor posted many local images, nor even scratched the surface of the photos I took while in Utah and Arizona in early February.
So I'm lovin' it. Taking every opportunity I can both locally and on trips to exercise my "photoholism". LOL. Speaking of trips, I leave for Maui and Kauai on March 19th and am really looking forward to this trip. I'll be on Maui for five nights and Kauai for four nights. I've never been to Hawaii so this trip will really be special.
Oceanside Pier is one of the area's iconic landmarks, located near a thriving harbor and marina, an active beach and popular surfing spot. Originally constructed in 1888, the 1,942-foot wooden pier is the perfect place to take a stroll, go fishing and watch surfers, the glistening Pacific and breathtaking sunsets. The pier serves as the backdrop for signature Oceanside events, including concerts and performances at the neighboring outdoor amphitheater, surfing competitions, the annual Oceanside IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon, and more.

The seawall in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is a stone wall that was constructed around the perimeter of Stanley Park to prevent erosion of the park's foreshore. Colloquially, the term also denotes the pedestrian, bicycle, and rollerblading pathway on the seawall, one which has been extended far outside the boundaries of Stanley Park and which has become one of the most-used features of the park by both locals and tourists. James "Jimmy" Cunningham, a master mason, dedicated his life to the construction of the seawall from 1931 until his retirement. Even after he retired, Cunningham continued to return to monitor the wall's progress, until his death at 85. While the whole path is not built upon the seawall, the total distance from CRAB park, around Stanley Park and False Creek to Spanish Banks is about 30 kilometres (19 mi).

Oceanside is a coastal city in California. It's known for palm-dotted Harbor Beach and nearby Oceanside Harbor, with its marina and shops. To the south, the long Oceanside Pier juts into the Pacific Ocean. The California Surf Museum traces the sport's history with a surfboard collection and exhibits on famous surfers. Sculptures, paintings and drawings from the region are on display at the Oceanside Museum of Art. ― Google
