How much money justifies a robbery
And how much money justifies a soul
You say I can do better, and yes I do agree
But you’re mistaking me for someone in control
Cause someone should have left me like you did someone, someone else instead
But it had to be you
I'm organising freedom on the table top
The adoration changes into fear

Today after a wacky day at Stone harbor Point with some real strange weather that looked like the end of days was coming. The weather finally cleared and was a awesome day there. We took a drive through Nummy Island and spotted this juvenile right off the road. Bill bails out on me, don't think the car was stopped yet. We managed to get quite a few shots.

Looking down an alley on Ocean Drive, the Art Deco section of Miami. This is how I had imagined all of Miami to look until I finally went there a few years ago.
The first of two shots I took of this somewhat decrepit breakwater on a foggy winter morning in Newport, Rhode Island. There are many photography opportunities along this scenic stretch of Ocean Drive; this is one I've been thinking of for a while, and was waiting for the right conditions (and some free time). After making some basic adjustments in Lightroom I switched over to DxO FilmPack for inspiration. The "Cyanotope" preset really appealed to me, with only a minor change to the default filter setting from blue to pink and some contrast adjustments. Beyond that I added a little texture and subtle vignetting with Color Efex Pro via the Tonal Contrast and Darken / Lighten Center filters, which I almost always use.

Hanging out on Ocean Drive in Miami, sucking down a mojito and waiting for the rain to stop. Spotted this cool Nissan 350Z across the street.

Seaweed blooms turn ghostly white in the world of infrared. Cormorants and friends dot the most distant rocks. Taken near Kings Beach off of historic Ocean Drive.

Ocean Drive area of Leith Port. Edinburgh. Lothian. Scotland. U.K. An area now well developed with many new office / residential buildings replacing old warehouses / industrial buildings. At the same time keeping the Leith waters as a focal point in the design.
Sometimes I put one of my photos on a mug, as seen here. I've posted the full photo of this scene on my photostream. The cup itself is the focus of this photo,, in keeping with the theme!

Thank you for taking the time to view my photo. Your faves and comments are greatly appreciated
Finished up a business trip a little early the last day, so my counterpart Quality Engineer, Marianne took me down to Ocean Drive in Miami, the art deco section.
This is what I had always imagined all of Miami to be like. Wrong, but I did have a great time capturing photons, like this young couple strolling along, hand in hand.
Shortly after this shot, it started raining, so Marianne and I dropped into an outdoor Cuban café with a large umbrella to sit under while watching the rain and sucking down my first mojito. Nectar of the gods.

Located opposite the ever popular geologic formation known as Thunder Hole, this area is a regular stopping point along the Ocean Drive section of the Park Loop Road, offering spectacular scenic views. Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island, Maine.
Here is another view of South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida. This shot is looking along a packed Ocean Drive at some of the Art Deco buildings that line the street. Interesting and energetic place!

Who would have thought this was taken the day before the "beast from the east" arrived. Not quite t-shirt and shorts weather, but a pleasant outing after a disappointing sunrise over the Menai Strait. I've deliberately kept this underexposed as I simply like the three people silhouetted against the sparkling sea (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!).
