Southampton's modern Sea City museum is a fascinating building. One could never quite tire of trying to get 'the' picture, never quite finding it. Here is the latest attempt. See first comment box for an image of the building.

# "i make my own fun" as joss whedon characters have said. i played with my previous image discovery post, creating numerous variations from the uploaded original. In all candor, I have OCD, which, if you really know/understand it, isn't fun or funny, really (although i laugh at myself a good bit, but that's healthy and a survival tactic). I'll start remixing an image and will be virtually unable to stop. Being a big kid, I'll jump into a project, and have fun up until the point I recognize that the aspect of me that is obsession has taken over and the endeavor quickly converts to tedium. But, when I look through my imagery the next day, I'm surprised by the results. Nonetheless, this is probably why I have caches of "lost images," because they contain these trona remixes... that are simply reminders to me.... Back to the start of this ramble, I try to recall the initial fun, which I've done here. Thank you for the visit. Skäl.

The best job that was ever offered to me was to become a landlord in a brothel. In my opinion it's the perfect milieu for an artist to work in.
The end of wisdom is to dream high enough to lose the dream in the seeking of it.
The last sound on the worthless earth will be two human beings trying to launch a homemade spaceship and already quarreling about where they are going next.
The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.
The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past.
We have to start teaching ourselves not to be afraid.

Feastday of St. Rose of Lima, virgin
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Rose_of_Lima
A reflection on today's Sacred Scripture:
Ezekiel 43:1-7ab
Psalm 85:9ab and 10, 11-12, 13-14
Matthew 23:1-12
St. Therese of the Child Jesus taught us that it is in the way we perform and encounter the little things in life, our day to day duties, that we demonstrate our love of Christ.
Today the Church celebrates the feast of St. Rose of Lima, a Third Order Dominican. The Divine Office describes simply that "she led a virtuous life at home and made great progress in a life of penance and contemplation, dying on August 24, 1617."
Though at times we experience great upheavals in our lives, most of our days and nights are routine, filled with the obligations of caring for families through our work, prayer and community service. It is within these confines that each of us is called to sainthood. It is here that Christ is with us. Let us be open to looking for Him here with our love.
St. Rose of Lima, pray for us.

If you need a laugh...
THREE WOMEN, TWO YOUNGER, AND ONE SENIOR CITIZEN WERE SITTING NAKED IN A SAUNA.
SUDDENLY THERE WAS A BEEPING SOUND. THE YOUNG WOMAN PRESSED HER FOREARM AND THE BEEP STOPPED.THE OTHERS LOOKED AT HER QUESTIONINGLY. ''THAT WAS MY PAGER,' SHE SAID. 'I HAVE A MICROCHIP UNDER THE SKIN OF MY ARM.'
A FEW MINUTES LATER, A PHONE RANG. THE SECOND YOUNG WOMAN LIFTED HER PALM TO HER EAR. WHEN SHE FINISHED,SHE EXPLAINED, 'THAT WAS MY MOBILE PHONE, I HAVE A MICROCHIP IN MY HAND.'
THE OLDER WOMAN FELT VERY LOW-TECH. NOT TO BE OUT DONE, SHE DECIDED SHE HAD TO DO SOMETHING JUST AS IMPRESSIVE.
SHE STEPPED OUT OF THE SAUNA AND WENT TO THE BATHROOM...SHE RETURNED WITH A PIECE OF TOILET PAPER HANGING FROM HER REAR END.
THE OTHERS RAISED THEIR EYEBROWS AND STARED AT HER.
THE OLDER WOMAN FINALLY SAID:
'WELL, WILL YOU LOOK AT THAT.....I'M GETTING A FAX!!'

Obsessive Camera Disorder
.....
Resolution is no limitation ... there has to be a good image in there somewhere.
There are sets and images for most of these in my Collection
I've been a fan of camera rotation photography for a few years now where the camera is rotated around the lens axis all in one photographic exposure. I've applied camera rotation in various ways including kinetic movement with lens and tripod swapping shenanigans. The one thing that really "tweaks" my OCD is alignment and last night I got it right for a change....
This is the cellar under an abandoned colliery; it's horrible, dark, dank, damp and dirty but great for texture and rotations.
Table top light painting and a little OCD. It's been so good this year to shoot such variety whenever the mood takes me without falling into any particular style and tonight was the turn of a few coloured lights. :)
Tonight's cracking night that nearly never was due to me being somewhat ill earlier in the evening (!) Shot in Budby Forest, Nottinghamshire, this is quite possibly the longest star trail I've ever done at just under 2 hours long. Thanks to Rob Bates for helping prevent me getting bored waiting that long for the sequence to finish!

A day of sorting out the loft.... The removal company had just dumped everything labelled 'loft' in the loft! Not a problem but it just didn't conform to the minor OCD I have :)
So, I finally found my triggers and a softbox so I decided on something different than a local landscape.
White perspex treated with RainX. Some red coloured water sprayed onto the perspex with a backlit softbox to fade it all out.
Obsessive -compulsive disorder.
The time in my head, the time above me, the time suffocating me, the time does not take off, are there many times or only one?
I don't really suffer from this disorder, however I do consider that I think obsessively although not compulsively, especially people's attitudes, I analyze them in such a meticulous way that it seems obsessive to me, not only that, time is something that seems that it does obsess me, I have always believed that there is no time for anything, never. Although I try to do everything in an orderly and organized way. And in general I think that the time one has to live is not enough for anything and I constantly feel very old, always at the end of my life. Time, that which is not supposed to exist, always marks my worst hopelessness.
I can see by the close-up view I have scrubbed this one with a vengeance. An Yet missed a spot !
Happy Macro Monday !
I wanted to do a photo in remembrance of my grandpa who recently passed away. The pocket watch in the upper right corner was his and my grandma gave it to me a few days ago.
I was in the studio for a while today and got 4 photos done! I'm quite proud of myself for that!
I'm really excited to do more of these OCD-esque overly organized product shots! I did another one today and I have about 12 others planned out.

This is the omelette mixture. As you can see, I went a little OCD and tabbed my copy of Mastering the Art of French Cooking but it is way easier to find things this way.
My lightpainter's pseudo-OCD was bad tonight. I could literally spend all night stood in a dark and derelict building waving lights and still never get it absolutely right. So I settled for this and be damned!
Lightpainting shot in one photographic exposure with no Photoshop or compositing.
I have a ton of photos to share from BlytheCon and a lot to say about the event, but for now, I'll share with you one of my very favorite photos from the whole trip: the Kozy Kape group photo! I wish we could have gotten every Kozy from BlytheCon in the photo, but the end of the con was pure chaos and I don't think everyone knew about the gathering outside. Luckily, a bunch of people did hear about it and the little event was able to take place! I had been looking forward to the moment ever since people started talking about it on Flickr months ago. ^u^
I felt honored to have met and held so many Kozys during the taking of this shoot. As many of those who attended it know, I was a bit crazy when it came to getting the rows of Kozy even. O__O After a while, people just started handing me their Kozys so I could put them in the right position for them. xD Sorry for kind of taking over and directing everyone! Haha, the perfectionist (and OCD) in me gets the best of me sometimes.
I was so excited to find that Kyle left one of the special "Kozy BlytheCon 2011" pins on top of Plum at my table while I was away during the con. She's wearing it in the photo-- and she never wants to take it off!
Anyway, Plum had a great time with all of her sisters. Can you spot Plum? ^__~
I think I must suffer from some sort of OCD in relation to these boats. I actually find it impossible to pass them by and not take a photograph! They are on Talla Reservoir near Tweedsmuir in the Scottish Borders.
Every time I taste spice drops, I remember my Grandma. She always had some of them stashed in her bread box. They were often dried up and stale, but she did not seem to mind, and neither did we kids.
