Early yesterday morning I went for a walk on the rocks along the beach. Often these are full of tide pools containing anemones, little fish, snails and crabs. As I walked, these trees caught my eye... their shapes are beautiful and they live in what could be described as very harsh conditions.... during high tide these rocks will be battered with waves and during low tide they could endure harsh sunlight or cold nights. None the less, they survive.... Beautifully.

The waterfall was little known, except to local residents, until 1821. That year, Professor Christopher Hansteen, on his way to the Hardangervidda plateau for astronomical observations, estimated the height of the waterfall to be about 280 meters by throwing stones from the edge and measuring the fall time with his pocket watch. In 1893, the height was measured using a string, and the true height was revealed to be 163 meters.

I decided to just observe the raven as it moved about, making sounds to others in the area. From time to time I would capture an image that caught my attention. This one stuck out because it had kind of like a profile of the raven’s head as it stood on top of a wooden fence post.
