This illustration provided by The New Yorker magazine, the cover of the July 21, 2008 issue by artist Barry Blitt, shows Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama dressed as a Muslim and his wife as a terrorist. The magazine says the cover is meant to satirize the use of scare tactics and misinformation in the presidential election to derail Obamas campaign, but Obama's campaign called it "tasteless and offensive.
"Here's the truth: the Soviet Union had thousands of nuclear weapons, and Iran doesn't have a single one. But when the world was on the brink of nuclear holocaust, Kennedy talked to Khrushchev and he got those missiles out of Cuba. Why shouldn't we have the same courage and the confidence to talk to our enemies? That's what strong countries do, that's what strong presidents do, that's what I'll do when I'm president of the United States of America."

Here is an old picture from August 2007... I had convinced Emma to try some jump shots for me.
Emma voted in her first presidential election yesterday and has been following the issues closely since the early going. She shared with us today that she joined 1000+ students in the ISU quad last night in a peaceful celebration.
the day after the superbowl, 'barack obama' made an appearance at the arizona cardinals homecoming / team rally.
Recently named Time Magazine’s Man of the Year for 2008, Barack Obama’s image is hard Not to find in Philadelphia. Here, behind the right side of a stop sign on Arch Street, the remains of the classic Obama Hope poster that has become a cultural phenomenon. In Background is the Arch Street United Methodist Church

Calvin was born three days before the 2001 inauguration of GWB. I cried and cried watching it in disbelief (couldn't have been the hormones at all!). I'm hoping for a different scene for the next little one. Born in the month of an election of change.
I hope. And I shout sometimes too.

The suit is finished off with lines made of masking tape. The door says "Obama Sale." They were closed, I think they sell leather bags. Or maybe it's another Banksy installation.
That was a close one last night. Actually, it wasn't as close as they thought it'd be, and it went exactly how I thought it'd be, but the important thing is another 4 years for our President. We all have different views and different sides, but we all have different lives. In my life, this is a positive thing.

He entered the arena on this historic evening to the sound of U2's "It's a Beautiful Day" blaring across the sound system.
I couldn't agree more.
