Four from a walk at Oakley Wood way back in November, in the early days of Lockdown 2. View from the edge of the wood over this autumn sowing. When we went at the end of September, it had only just been sown:

As the light of a short winter's day gave way to darkness and the shadows of early evening disappeared this silent white spectre of ghostly beauty passed momentarily before my eyes filling me with a cold electric thrill.
This photo holds something of the wonder of the moment for me.

After being used on various spent ballast moves and crew training runs based at Eastleigh/Southampton class 60 no.60046 returned to Willesden on 6Z90 0915 Southampton Up Yard to Willesden DC sidings. The train is pictured passing Oakley (near Worting Junction), a location once again available after extensive tree felling.
Freightliner Powerhaul 66416 passes Oakley working 6M80 Luton Crescent Road to Tunstead Sidings empty stone on 20 April 2022.
Berry Duane Oakley shown performing with The Indigenous Suspects at the Hoosier Bar and Grill in Osprey, Florida. Oakley is the son of Berry Oakley, founding member and bassist of the Allman Brothers Band.

Gbrf’s 66789 is seen on the SWML at a recently cleared Oakley on the 26th of May 2021 working the 08:59 6Y48 Departmental service from Eastleigh East Yard to Hoo Junction up yard. DB’s 66170 is seen tucked in behind dead in tow.

Hanson & Hall Class 50/0 No.50008 Thunderer and DB’s 67028 are seen on the SWML passing through Oakley on the 9th of June 2021, working the 09:17 5Z50 from Eastleigh Alstom to Westbury. This was a loaded test run for 50008 after recently being repaired, although the morning didn’t start off to well for the Hoover having problems with its brakes linking up with the Mk1 Coaching Stock, eventually getting going 75L. DB’s 67028 was tucked behind for insurance purposes. Taken with the aid of a pole.
At first glance, the town of Oakley had only a small amount to offer a photographer. But if you leave room for more than a first, there's much to explore and find. Given the right light, rolls upon rolls exist in this town.

Some early autumn views from a few weeks back. These large spotted red mushrooms (or toadstools, I never know) always seem to have a mouthful or two taken out of them. Presumably they're not that tasty for squirrels or mice. (Having looked it up, I think it's Red-capped Fly Agaric, which is a toadstool).
