As I reflect on the year, I pause and say "thank you" for my friends here in SL. With the crazy world we live in, I am thankful for a place that I feel safe and still be social. The Nye School, built in 1931 sits below the rugged hills in Nye, Stillwater County, Montana. Now a small rural town (population 272), Nye was once a booming mining town,

A pleasant section of ocean beach near Newport is named Nye Beach. It is an historic area that has long been popular as a tourist destination.

Hackberry. Western Arizona, New Year's Eve, 2018. We were working our way towards Needles for the night. Not exactly a great place to stay, compared to some of the other small hotels we'd stayed at on that trip.

Been a year, folks. We'll keep the flame going. That small light heading into the darkness.

"And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:

"Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown".

Who knows what's on the other side of that gate, but please know - we're there to walk it with you.

After a frantic preperation ups and downs, uncertanties and doom then issues on the night I could have done without, topped off by having to walk back from the train station and half past crazy in the morning. I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year. Shot for Visit London on the Hasselblad H6D100c using the 35-90mm lens (I've used a lot of cameras in my time, beleive me - nothing comes close) Final image is over 80 mega mixels and the web does the colour depth no justice at all.
