The collection represents the private art collection of Carl Jacobsen (1842–1914), the son of the founder of the Carlsberg Breweries.

The Glyptotek is primarily a sculpture museum, as indicated by the name, the focal point of the museum is antique sculptures from the ancient cultures around the Mediterranean, including Egypt, Rome and Greece, as well as more modern sculptures such as a collection of Auguste Rodin's works, considered to be the most important outside.

However, the museum is equally noted for its collection of paintings that includes an extensive collection of French impressionists and Post-impressionists as well as Danish Golden Age paintings.

My mom grew up around this area and was commenting on how the hills make her feel like home. I have always lived in cities that are much flatter but, as I was leaving Phoenix at the end of my spring trip, I ran into a stranger who had coincidentally just moved to Phoenix from Chicago and was making random conversation at a vegan restaurant. He had always lived in Chicago and said, "The first time I saw a mountain, I cried."

Anyway, landscapes are interesting. The concept of home is also interesting. Identity, architecture, clouds-all fascinating things. Have. nice day!

Ny-Hellesund was from the 18th century known for its pilot station, customs station, guesthouses and fisheries. Ny-Hellesund can be regarded as one of the best preserved outports in the region (Wikipedia).

The house on the far left dates back to the 17th century, while the house on the far right dates back to 1734 (Kulturminnesøk).
