Nene Valley Railway heritage railway, the main station at Wansford. Opened in 1845 this acted for many years at the railhead for the Great North Road round here.

34081 92 Squadron works the second service of the day to Peterborough NVR on there Halloween weekend.
Out for a bike ride into town today and manged to arrive just in time for one of Nene Valley Railways brilliant steam engines at Orton Mere. Pleased to see it smoking with a few suitably placed clouds in the background.

The "Boston Bucket Bash" - a photocharter at the NVR with 3913 masquerading as 68018 and 75006 as 68070, two Boston based J94s. Both suitably weathered the Wagon Group put on a great charter with some great photo opportunities. Nice to see some realistic weathered locos with freight for a change!
Stanier Jubilee 4-6-0 45596 Bahamas on arrival at Wansford with a train from Peterborough. This immaculate engine is visiting the Nene Valley railway for two weeks between mainline railtour duties.
Bahamas was built by the North British Locomotive Company and entered service with the London Midland & Scottish Railway in January 1935. The engine was initially allocated to Crewe before moving on to various sheds around the English area of the LMS including Carlisle Kingmoor, Grimethorpe and Millhouses in Sheffield. Finally, 45596 was allocated to Stockport Edgeley in 1962. The engine remained here for four years and after hauling a number of enthusiast’s specials was withdrawn from traffic and preserved. It is normally based at Ingrow on the KWVR in West Yorkshire.
