Going back a month, Bahamas worked on the Nene Valley Railway for a week. After it’s last service day I travelled down to Wansford to lend a hand and clean the loco. I am seen here pulling quite the face whilst trying to polish a hard to get to section of her motion.

This weekend is the Nene Valley Railway's Bahamas Enthusiast Weekend and Stanier Jubilee 4-6-0 45596 is seen departing south with the 16.00 train to Peterborough.

Out for a bike ride into town today and manged to arrive just in time for one of Nene Valley Railways brilliant steam engines at Orton Mere. Pleased to see it smoking with a few suitably placed clouds in the background.

De inmiddels aardig ingeburgerde Vectron is voor vele fotografen en liefhebbers nog een gewild jachtobject, voor mij persoonlijk is het vooral een aardig alternatief als er geen materieel te klikken is wat ik eigenlijk leuker vind, zoals Class 66 of iets historisch. Dat maakt dat ik minder effectief jacht maak op de verschillende uitvoeringen die er van deze moderne Siemens locomotief inmiddels rondrijden. Toch is de vangst van een leuk exemplaar zeker niet verkeerd, en dat geldt dan ook voor dit exemplaar met reclame van NVR insurance die ik ergens toch wel graag wilde hebben.

Met de kennis dat juist deze loc voor de Linz-shuttle het land binnen zou komen en daarnaast een gedeeltelijke sluiting van het A15 tracé besloot ik met twee vrienden wat uurtjes door te brengen langs de Brabantroute. Begonnen op de inmiddels aardig verkleinde compostberg bij Heukelom werd in de loop van de middag verhuisd naar de andere kant van Oisterwijk. Het was immers vrij stil qua aanbod treinen wat maakte dat we in elk geval even wat anders wilden en de Linz een ruime twee uurtjes later zou zijn. Al met al kan wat afwisseling natuurlijk ook helemaal geen kwaad!

In helaas één van de momenten dat wolken de zon deden verdwijnen passeert de gewilde LTE 193 728 met de voor de verandering eens 100% beladen Linz-shuttle 41966 enige tientallen meters ten oosten van Oisterwijk en koerst daarmee verder naar de eindbestemming Maasvlakte West. De zorg betreft zeer matige beladingsgraad was gelukkig geheel onterecht wat toch behoorlijk ten goede komt aan het geheel. Overigens samen met de 'Flying Dutchman' 193 232 vind ik deze Vectron van leasemaatschappij ELL de enige leuke verschijning. Zonder passende stickers is de basiskleurstelling van dit bedrijf naar mijn mening immers helemaal niet aantrekkelijk.

The "Boston Bucket Bash" - a photocharter at the NVR with 3913 masquerading as 68018 and 75006 as 68070, two Boston based J94s. Both suitably weathered the Wagon Group put on a great charter with some great photo opportunities. Nice to see some realistic weathered locos with freight for a change!
