The way your shirt can crumple around your collarbones like secondhand smoke, the distressed cotton cloak you stretch over your back muscles and shoulders, the one that carves little lint towns into your body structure. The way your hair pulls back to reveal the picturesque mountain ranges that are your cheek bones and freckles. I exhale little wisps of love into your ears, as your fingers intertwine with your hair like nooses around the necks of revolutionaries and pirates.
I want to scream to you, to make your pillow lips crack wide and smile. I want to embrace your elbows and forearms and tell you that the purple band you spread over your skull to keep the bangs out of your eyes is ok to let down. That crying and screaming and begging for death is ok, and that I could hold your hand, even though I haven't ever met you. I could trace my fingertips up your neckline and to your eloquent little nose. Telling you every reason why seeing those little oceans in your eyes light up is the single thing that matters. I promise, the music that your heart spews out is a little music box sound that I cannot replace.
Hopped a fence, tripod and GND filter in hand.
Watched this magic unfold, no matter the direction I turned.
My internet was down yesterday, so I speedblitzed to get this done. (It was this or a paper on puritans.)
As before, all of the minifigures have had their prints modded into LDD (except Diana's tiara) and -most- of these are new or modified designs.
I got the idea to do a "Justice League Unlimited" shot from NuffSaid, and I also have to give credit to CM4S for the technique I used for Plastic-Man's left arm.
So...enjoy. :)
Met Nuff’Said heeft Moussem een dijk van een programma gecreëerd. Een combinatie van Literatuur, Stand-up Comedy, Video en Muziek lijkt op het eerste gezicht vreemd, maar het werkt wonderwel.
"Who Watches the Watchmen"
So, after seeing Nuffsaid's Watchmen pic, I decided to make some purist renditions of the characters.
Nite owl: I liked how he turned out. He is a mixture of the movie and comics version of the character.
Rorschach: Simple fig that I have made before, but he is still my favorite of the group.
The Comedian: Wish I had a better face, but it works. Also, wish I had a way to make the pauldrons in a purist way, but I don't.
Ozymandias: My second favorite of the group. I really like how he came out. Like Nite Owl, he is a mixture of the comics and movie version.
Dr. Manhattan: I hate this one. There are no light or sand blue heads and torsos that would work for him, and this was the best I could do.
Silk Spectre: Hate this one to. Again, there are no good parts to make a decent purist version of her, so this was the best I could do.
Please leave some feedback and a comment. Which is your favorite and why?
Some say he is only a myth. Some say the legend himself visits the Detroit landmarks. Some claim to have spotted him.
But no one compares to him.
Dr. Manhatten & Silk Spectre II
_
Got - Finally might I add - the Watchmen Comic Book, havn't finished it yet, but not much more to go. Anyhoo: I had made SS a while back, and nothing much has changed with her appearence. I was planning on making Dr. Manhatten when I first saw Electro - Along with a few others - but luckily I got the set a few days ago, so I emediatly got 'cracking! I would have liked to change the face, but I couldn't find a good one, and since there is some white on the body, it works quite good IMO.
I will also be posting the other members of The Watchmen, in a few days time, and then finally a group shot. :D Next ones will be Nite-Owl II and Rorschach.
Inspired by NuffSaid and TheMooseFigs.
IF YOU ARE ADDED, PLEASE LEAVE SOME FEEDBACK, AS IT IS PROBALLY BECCAUSE YOU ARE A WATCHMEN FAN, SO I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOU OPPINION. Thank you. :)
Comments and faves appreciated. :)
Definitely deserves to be on Black & bigger.
If you don't do it you are missing out on a lot.
You are also missing out on the free Ice Cream that I give to all who view this in Lightbox.
(Free Ice Cream may be substituted for something of equal or lesser value)
The Sea. Imaginative title, huh? I was going to call it something arty farty but then I realised it was ten to midnight and I just couldn't be arsed. Sooooo, it does what it says on the tin. It's the sea.
Day 036:
Anytime a discussion about weight comes up and I share with people how much I weigh, they immediately don't believe me.
As of this morning I am 219lbs. I've been this weight for about a year now. Got up to 225lbs at one point. Ideally I would like to be back to what I was a few years ago (185lbs), but that would require some actual work on my behalf.
I know this a bit revealing. Not easy to post. Typically I wear black boxer briefs, but I do own one pair of fun undies. I figure this isn't a sexy photo, so maybe some humor would help.
So there you go. Here I am.
Update: A year later and I'm still the way I am and unlike last year. I'm actually okay with my weight. :)
*Note: I don't mind comments, but rude individuals will be BLOCKED. Just warning you. If you don't like, don't comment. Thank You*

This is one of my favorite shots, I work to hit the big 4 in this one - composition, lighting, image-subject, and technique. The eye, nuffsaid!
so, i finished it tonight.
and yes, i cried. not so much because of what transpired within the pages, but because of the hard physical fact of the pages themselves. it's been so long since i finished a book, so very very long. and i used to be a voracious reader; anyone who's been to the house can attest to the hundreds of books piled around the place. but flickr and photography have usurped some of that, and this week i realized how much i've been missing.
and as i crept closer and closer to the end of the book, i found myself remembering the books that carried me through my childhood -- the anne of green gables series, about a red-headed orphan child whom nobody wanted, smart and smart-mouthed, desperate for friendship and love. as i followed her adventures, i managed to escape my own loneliness. she was my fictional twin, you see; while my parents may be alive, i've had to willingly orphan myself for my own survival, mourning the loss of a dream of something that will simply never be. c'est la vie, in the truest sense of that phrase.
so at the age of 30, to find another orphan character in harry potter, just as i'd begun my own journey from adulthood back to a childhood i needed to reclaim? that was pretty fucking profound. and once again, i followed along over the next seven years as he found his magical powers, gaining confidence and friendship and love... but this time, something was different. this time, my reality mimicked my fantasy.
so as i closed this book tonight and thought about the me who needed to escape all those years ago, and the me who's alive right now here in this bed, yeah. i cried.
cos i'm the girl who lived.
Would you let your child hang out with mine based upon my hair color? After a talk with someone today my confidence and happiness in my pinkness has made me second guess myself... I need some HONEST opinions please.....(Oh and NO hard feelings if in fact you wouldn't.) I will change my hair if it seems that my actions are being detrimental to my children's happiness. When I first did it, I wasn't worried, in fact I haven't been worried (until today) I was in the mind set that if someone was biased against my child b/c of my hair choice then really I didn't want my child being friends with someone being raised with such closed and narrow values. But now I am all freaked out. I have become so much more confident with the pink hair, I have been happy somehow...but I would much rather my child be happy than me. (I have only had 2 negative responses IRL about my hair but after a phone conversation today I am worried) So...After all of that... Would you let your child play with mine?
ETA: I drive teh "right car", they go to the "right school", I do everything "right", well kind of LOL, I just happen to have pink hair and carry my camera everywhere.
ETA again: If you happen to see and read this, I am not mad at you, I am just sad that you see it this way.
So here is my variant 1 of apoc superman. Im probably gonna go with my other variant but tell me what you think

The homie Jonathan Black asked me if I wanted to do this week's Throwback Thursday photo for Streetsweeper.Northwest. He suggested I revisit one of Jason's photos which was genius! This was one of the photos I definitely wanted to redo.

Explore #285 by the time I saw it
My 305th to make EXPLORE
let me preface this by saying i had a superlatively shitty day.
i didn't get home until about 8:30. sitting at the mail-filled dining table, we scarfed some take-out from cold spring pizza; florian had a chicken parm on a roll, i had the penne vodka. we caught each other up on our days, and decided to head upstairs to watch some "family guy" on dvd.
then i told him to wait.
i went into the kitchen, opened the freezer, and brought out a bottle of tequila (corzo, in case you're wondering -- MUCH better than patron). i grabbed two shot glasses, put 'em on the table, and looked at him. he smiled. and we each downed a shot, coimplete with the "ooooh" and "aaaah" and the pounding of the table. and then i poured us each one more, thinking hey, it's like a second glass of wine, right? they went down like buttahmilk.
and then inspiration hit. i got out the tripod. i got out the hotshoe flash. and i got out the remote.
see, one of the things that's been getting me down lately is how my commute -- which, mind you, i love -- robs me of any free time to do anything errandy (like buy christmas presents without the use of the internet). i wanted to do holiday cards this year, but we just ran out of time. (i come home, we eat, we vege for maybe a half hour, and we go to bed. rinse, repeat.) so a few days ago i suggested we take a photograph of ourselves in front of the tree, and email it to people.
hence the tripod, the remote, the flash.
this is an outtake, a test of the light. i did not know he did this until i went back and checked the exposure.
perspective is a spectacular thing.
